The Boomtown preview of SHIII does not tell us if the preview is on what was seen at the E3, or if they have a pre Beta copy of SHIII. But, with the survey now out, this preview would tend to support the idea that the game is well underway in the development path, and this will make any significant change to the game development, hard, if not impossible, to do.
Note the comment from preview: "As opposed to submarine game classics like Aces of the Deep, you don't play a vast free campaign in SHIII, which is a delieverate choise the developers have made to make you experience the course of history and not alter it."
This could well be the "main principle of the campaign system" that was refered to in Mr Boitor's letter. If true, well, the polls at least let them know what system you are going to run this new, great looking game on.
Of course, we cannot have a review/preview of SHIII, without a few paragraphs of just how great the graphics are. Those pictures are really great looking.
The preview goes on to state the release date is in November, which is kind of a surprise to me, based upon what was reported at E3. Still, that would mean that SHIII would be in stores for the Christmas push, and that would certainly mean great looking sales for a great looking game.
Yet, a November release could be just enough time to alter the campaign system to make it dynamic. But, that would have to start now, as we are running out of time. And, to address the other issues, to make this a realistic simulation will also sap resources and time.
Time, is something we are going to be running short of fast, if we are to see any real change in the development of this, great looking game.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother.
