After watching such movies as "Requiem" and "Secret Weapon Over Stalingrad" I have been bitten by the FB movie bug!!!

But, I have no real clue how to go about it. I know that there is some kind of capture software required to convert what is seen in the track to a usable file, then some other kind of software to seque everything together and add a soundtrack and what not. My question is, what do I use??

I currently have a Dell Optiplex GX260 with P4 1.8GHz processor, 256MB RAM (yeah, I know I need a lot more, am working on it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif), 32MB Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 100/200 (and yes, I know that needs urgent attention too!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif).

Based on these specs, what would you suggest to use to "learn the craft" as it were of making movies???

Hello Tooz!

Welcome aboard,

You forgot to mention what OS you are running. If WinXP then you can start with a "Free" beginers movie maker called "MS Movie Maker 2"...this is a good tool to begin editing and making up your movie. You will need a capture program like FRAPS or CAMTASIA to capture the video from the game so then you can select what you want and put it together with "Movie Maker 2". Your system is OK but I recommend at least you get 512MB to 1Gb of RAM and PLENTY of Hard Drive space, at least a 80 Gb or 120 Gb drive for your captures and movie. I also recommend a more uptodate card like an ATI 9xxx series or Nvidia 5xxx series w/128MB min. video card. Other than that you will need plenty of creative mind and a good story!
