Nope, AFAIK you need to punch it in every time you start.

(In before someone says Ctrl-H, always happens)

Yes, You can change the HUD colors. to cycle through them use "ctrl-H"

Is the chane of HUD colors realistic. Is it possible on real aircrufts and if so why do they need this feature?

Not sure about the change of HUD colours, but change of brightness/contrast is probably realistic. Depending on the lighting conditions you might not be able to see the HUD clearly, or might want to turn it down a bit.

Changing the colours . . . hmn.

I can see it best on yellow. Used to that from Flanker . . . anyone know whether that's realistic for the Su27?

I know the German MiG's at least have green HUD's . . . but other Russian designs?
