I spent all weekend playing halo on the xbox, my son and I played for about 40 hours coop multiplayer. What a blast. Too bad though, cause the level where the aliens change kinda freaked him out. But he only 5 1/2. So we shut it down, restarted the game and played the first 4 levels over and over and over........

Fun game.

humm I'am not. After what microsoft did to halo I'am not buying an X-Box or their game.

It's great but it's old and I will never play it.

Should have been a shining game for the PC in the first place.

If you mean buying it from Bungie and then making it XBox only at the start, I hear ya, but its still an awesome game.

- It's great but it's old and I will never play it.

It doesn't feel or look old when you play it. It feels and looks completely new and cutting edge.

Aye. And now it is.

Actually, I swore that I would never let my kid play violent games, but he caught me a few times, so next thing you know, its "dad, can I play?". I was sure to teach him that it was only a game, he would play mickey mouse toddler, the switch to red faction, strap a mine to somebody, laugh after blowing them up (this created some tension with my mother /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ) and when he was done, switch back to mickey mouse.

One night, I flipped on A&E and started watching a show on the Nay SEALS, and my son got quite adiment that I turn it off. The interesting thing was that he was playing Ghost Recon (on god mode of course) which, as you all know, is very much like GR. Anyways, he was very worried for the guys in the boat that were doing a live fire training mission. After I turned it off, he went back to playing GR. So I guess that my (at this time) 2 1/2 year old knew the differance between real and fantasy. He never has nightmares about aliens or death, he is well liked by the kids in his school classes, most parents find him a polite kid, so I do not think that it was a wrong choice. BUT make sure that the kids KNOW its only a movie, video game and such. They are not stupid at a young age, no matter what some people say.

Oh yah, a game where the pistol has zoom on it while the assault rifle doesn't. Also, doesn't the pistol have more killing power? Man, smaller IS better! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Which game has a zooming pistol, but the rifle doesn't? Halo or one of the others?

P.S.

I stayed at a friend's place for a week over Christmas break a couple years ago. My friend whose place it was went home for the break and I stayed there with another mutual friend who didn't have somewhere to go for break. We played HALO for a couple hours and then Ghost Recon, we got bored and turned to Ghost Recon and we never looked back. Less than a month later my friend sold his X-box. . . true story. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The moral of the story is that HALO is as boring as hell, but it does have a cool flashlight.

Halo. Pistol, sniper rifle, and rocket launcher all have zooms. Assault rifle, shotgun, and the plasma guns (I don't think the pistol did) do not have zoom.

My personal take on Halo: Great story line at first, till they started ripping off Aliens. Characters are really funny if you listen to them. I even got some wavs of them to use on coms while playing RvS:
"Where are your GLASSES boy?"
"I didn't like him either, but d**m amigo!"
"Who's the man? you are. THANK YOU!"
About halfway through the snow/indoor base & cores level, I started getting bored. Incredibly unoriginal map design. I kept thinking "didn't I just clear this room? and what's with this little identical jogging hallway between every room?". Was very relieved to get back outside again (after being very annoyed at having to retrace my steps through the ENTIRE level). Only to have it happen all over again while going after the "index". Those two areas of the game suck. Everything else was pretty cool. And driving the jeep around was WAY cool, probably the best part of the game.

In Halo Thor, the pistol has a zoom feature on it, the assault rifle doesn't. The pistol will kill an alien in a few shots, the assault rifle takes a lot more. If it wasn't for the magazine capacity and the full-auto of the assault rifle, there's really no other reason to pick that over the pistol.

Man, that's lame. I think possibly the lamest thing about that game is the infinite respawn thing though, it just makes a bad game worse.

BTW, that jeep was pretty cool too (in single player).
