I finally got my game to download, went to ubi gameroom, clicked on AEP dogfight to play the new game, and a box came up that said...server cannot tell weather your verson is compatible with "its" verson. Do i need to run another patch over the new game??? Thanks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

No, you just need to make sure you are trying to join a server that is running AEP 2.0.

Now... let me get this straight..... You have FB and you also have the Aces Expansion Pack right? When you start a run offline what version do you read in the lower left corner? if it doesnt say Ver 2.0 in red letters and Aces Expansion pack also in red letters then you have the wrong version. If it says anything other than 2.0 you are not running the AEP. If it says version 1.22 you should be able to join a server running 1.22. Contrary to what you may think everybody doesnt have version 2.0 yet. It hasnt been officially released in Europe yet. Lastly ... you should go here HYPERLOBBY (http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz/) not the UBI site. It is where most of us fly. Download the client and go to the Forgotten Battles room. You said you downloaded the game...... I hope you arent using pirated software... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif because this sim is well worth the price.

BearDude, I think this one conforms to the "No good deed goes unpunished" rule! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif
I'm confused about his term, I downloaded" the ACE pack. He needs to explain that one because I only try to help those who actually like bought the game. Also he needs to explain why he was rude to you when you obvioulsy were just trying to politley help before I'll even piss on him, much less help him. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Some people use the word 'Downloaded' in place of 'installed'.
It's either a language thing or a lack of technical knowledge.
Unlike the use of the caps key.......

I guess my question really is, why is there a lobby for AEP dogfight on ubi.com, with people playing? Are they playing the new game or are they playing the original il2 fb dogfight. I had the 1.22 patch over my existing fb game. Now that i've downloaded my new game, AEP version 2.0, i can no longer play the original il2 fb in the older lobby because i no longer have the patch needed to play the original il2 fb dogfight on ubi.com.Does this make sense? I"do" apriciate your help. You guys know more than me. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

I'm not rude to people unless they are rude to me. I'm a new guy looking for help. Give me time to understand the protacol. And i am "very" computer illiterate. As for the game, I bought on line, and i don't do what you are suggesting. In a learner, not a know it all.

So, did it like, come physically by some form of delivery to you or did you like, buy it in a downloadable version? If you bought a downloadable version, please provide the link to exactly how you did this.
BearDude wasn't rude to you. He was simply pointing out that pirated versions can cause you installation problems. So Mr. knowledgeable here should have used the term install instead of download if that is in fact what you've done here. If there was a misunderstanding, it was of your own creation. Give me some clear answers please.

Im not rude to people unless they are rude to me. I'm new at this. Give me time to learn the ropes. My terms aren't up to snuff either. As far as the game is concerned, I bought it on line at ubi.com. I dont dabble in "bootleg". I dont even let my daughter "download" music. Im a really nice guy looking for help. No need to piss on me

I would suggest the confusion about the phrase 'downloaded' is that in some instances people use downloaded to describe putting something on their computer, irrelevant as to whether it came from the net, ie, off a cd.
I was confused when i first heard someone use the term to. Installed would be better.

No patch for AEP at the moment, one is due and will include new planes.
Once you have installed AEP you can only join compatible servers, in AEP lobbies (which I haven't seen yet).
The 1.22 servers are no longer compatible with your game, but us Europeans who are still stuck with 1.22 are glad of that http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
I guess, gunshy, you are now aware of the difference between 'downloaded' and 'installed'. Luckyboy and Bearcat are both cool 'dudes' and will help all comers.
With the support this sim has from it's developer people are understandably touchy about piracy.
It is also agains Forum Rules Of Conduct to discuss piracy, hence the questions to clear up your source of AEP.
Sorry you had a rough ride here, it's not normal we are friendly guys really and will go out of our way to help!

I really do apriciate all your help and am sorry about being rude. Im very anxious and want to play. Does anyone play on ubi.com If you go there and enter the forgotten battles lobby, you will see the new 2.0 lobbies with people playing. When i join, a box pops up and says that my verson isn't recognized by the hosts verson. I dont know where to go from here. I don't know how to provide a link to the ubi.com sight so you could see what i am talking about. I downloaded the Hyperlobby client that one of you guys told me about, (i think it was the Beardude) and am trying to find my way through it. Sorry for all the crap. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gifops:

When you start IL2:FB what version does it say on the splash screen?
At one point there where 1.22 servers appearing in the 2.0 lobbies as well, but I'm told that has now been resolved.

Personally, I found HyperLobby easiest to use once I got my account set up and running. Have you been able to try HyperLobby yet?
I still need you to explain this "download" thing.

gunshy028..let me see if i can help u here and kinda calm all this down. ok..if you installed (downloaded as u call it ) the Aces pack tehn you should be showing Version 2.0. You cannot join servers that are using 1.22 unless you have a seperate copy with just 1.22 on your computer. I run both versions right now because Europe does not have Aces yet. I don't know about UBI but with hyperLobby you can switch back and forth from one version to the other by hitting connect and holding down the shift-control keys. You then search and find the version you wanna play. I hope this helped explain things. Everyone chill now. cheers everyone.

I set up my hyperlobby client on 3\7\04, got to the gameroom for il2 fb, but need to learn how to navigate through it. It took me a little while to learn ubi's gameroom. Like i said, i'm new at this.I'm a father of 2 who doesn't do the dishes anymore because i'd rather shoot people down for fun.

Also if you try UBI again:
In the AEP looby there are still some servers showing 1.22.
Look for the version column - 7th from left - and make sure it says 2.0
The 1.22 is pre-AEP.
Also ignore the message of the day in the chat window.
It's usually at least 6 months out of date!
