1.2Patch, Critical Error, Please jab a fountain pen in my eye.

Argh! No! You cant do this to me!!!!!

was my initial reaction when i got this error message when trying to load my checkpoint (regulator, just before heading outside into that really difficult bit, after blowing up some sort of generator; incedently, how do you do that bit?) immediatly after installing 1.2:

CRITICAL ERROR: entity classname Forklift classid=96 id=828d CANNOT BE LOADED

I believe the expression is &%â£$*&""&% !!!!!

Had no problems beforehand (other than being stuck at that bit) now i cant even get it to load.

My specs:

Athlon 1700+
Asus A7V333
768 mb ddr sdram
Radeon 9800 (not pro)
Soundblaster Audigy
Windows XP

Please give me some help, i havent even completed the game yet, im slightly ****, and its gonna be really hard to complete it when i cant play it.

Yep, same problem, just installed the 1.2 patch and cant load my game on the factory level

I tried loading the swamps map also and it gave a similar error.

Can't wait for the 1.3 patch...

I'm having the same problems. There are only 2 options to fix this.

1. Uninstall Far Cry and Reinstall it w/ 1.1 version. (Make sure if you do this, you backup your savedgames)

2. Use the cheat mode to load the map you were on and it'll overwrite your save with the new one, thus letting you load your game.

I found a 3rd way to fix it.

3. Go to "Uninstall" the game but it'll give you the option to "REPAIR", (but backup your savedgames before hand or it'll delete them). Repair the game and it will restore it to the original version of 1.00 then just download the 1.1 Patch.

Im gonna have to re-install, can sumone tell me EXACTLY what i have to backup to not lose my savegames?

Go to the BIN32 folder in

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\bin32

and save the folder profiles...done.

When you reinstall ...if you saved them with the 1.1 patch then you need to install the patch again before the will work.

I get that error aswell on the archive level. Does this only happen when you load a saved game from 1.1?

best fix for the 1.2 patch is to:

1) run it again and choose the "Remove" option.
2)delete the 1.2 patch from your system forever.
3) run the 1.1 patch again and choose the "Remove" option.
4) run the 1.1 patch again. you should now be at your prior 1.1 status without the hassle of making backups.

Go to Megagames.com to retreive the 1.1 patch.

That sequence saved me alot of hassle.

Yeah, i'm getting the same error. And I am a bit upset with Ubisoft since they delayed the launch of this patch to "make it better", but hopefully, they will hear about this and quickly put out a 1.3

Ah, so my polisy of keeping all the backdated patches on my pc has finally payed off then, thanx to the guy who has Marylin Manson in his sig for the instructions.

the problem is the 1.1 to 1.2 update of the savegames, as buddy said, just use the "cheat" to open up the level selection and start the level over.
