This is ONLY for people using service pack 2 of windows xp. other versions do not have these problems, or options.

1) Click Start, point to Settings, click, point to Control Panel, and click again.

2) Now locate "Windows Firewall". You have the option to turn it off, but since the Security Center complains at the abscence of it, we're going to tune it to play settlers.

3) Click the tab at the top that says "Exceptions". Now click the "Add Program" button.

4) You'll be prompted with a list that may take some time to load, however it's useless to us as settlers isnt on it. However, if you're trying to get into BBGC look at step A.

5) Click browse. Using the menus, locate your Settlers installation. It's usually C:\Bluebyte\The Settlers IV . When you get to here, click S4.exe then press Open. Click OK.
Now, add another program, and browse to your settlers 4 directory again if you have to. Now go into the EXE folder. Pick S4_Main.exe and press open. Click ok. Now both files can access the internet.

And for those that can't get in to BBGC:

A) Click Add Program. Find "Blue Byte Game Channel". Click it, then click ok. Now click ok again.

If you are on dial up, or an ADSL connection that uses dial up connections, disconnect from the internet and redial. For those on ADSL/ISDN connections that can't disconnect, you'll have to reboot your pc.

Hope this helps.
