What can i say, i know ive had enough of attemping to play a game of IT but i cant be the only one, maybe your patience level is better than mine.
Ive always had a good server many people have commented how good it is and ive rarely had problems, and yet for the last week if i try to host a game i get no where, well i do get back to the main screen thats if i dont have to reboot the box first /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif .
Every game the room is emptied during the load up and if we're really lucky we get half way through a game before it happens. So what to do, well we've tried it all, ajusted the settings in the server, had every man and his dog hosting in an attempt to get a game.
Everyone ive spoken to knows of this problem as its affecting all of us, trouble is nothing seems to be happening to sort it out, so come on UBI and XBL what you gonna do you've had are money, so give us something we can play, as it stands IT may as well be in my bin /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

It is getting damn silly. If you get half an hour of uninterupted gameplay its luck.
Xbox stalling, "plese restart your xbox" messages, getting booted. Its become far too common in the last week or so.
This is becoming a real pain to us in casual play and a problem for clan matches.

It there anyone out ther in Ubi-land aware of this or already on it? (let me guess, its M$'s fault right? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif )

it is getting past a joke.

the problem is getting worse.

n it really does need sorting out.

plus how are we supposed to play any games if the players keep getting kicked out the room.

so some one please take notice of this post cuz the way me n alot of my friends feel at the moment,like what klean said it may as well be in the bin.

And me. Agree totally with everything that has been said.

Its now got to the sad point where even some of my American fellow GR players, with their ridiculously large connections (compared to the UK in the broadband dark ages, grrrrrrr), are having problems too.

The original GR seems fine.

Can this have been caused by the dahsboard update?? Surely that would affect GR as well as GRIT???

Anyways, I know it was only 20 quid, but my copy is now completely useless.

Regardless of WHOS problem it is, MS or UBI, will someone please address this?

Mrs K, what more needs to be said. How can they expect to have a successful game without the proper servers ( or capable servers.)
A 1mb connection not being able to host a game, surely they must be able to do something about it, or is it just a case of they can't be bothered.
Problem is who are we to do anything about it?
Are they going to listen?
Are they going to sort it out?
Oh my God, I'm going off on one again!!!!
Anyway something needs to be done to put my faith back into what could be a great game.

Damn, well well, to add up on the fact I have a slow connection (taking online x-box out of the question) this happens pretty well making the fact that my community is getting DSL some time soon useless for the box. GAH! :angry smilie here:

This game lags more then any XBL game I've ever played in my entire life, and im 62 years old! Thats alot of damn XBL games. I love the game so much I actually put up with all the chitty lag and xbox reboots.

the lag is caused by a crappy host and their horilble connection. to hold 12 with explosives no respawn siege without lag you need a minimum of 768-800 kps of ul speed. to add in capet bombing and repawns then add it in 1.0-1.2 meg ul connections. most people have a 256 k ul speed from their cable providers and 128-168 for dsl.(im talking baseline here) and these are the same problem causing the problems with laggy games. they create a room and put it at 12 and wonder why they lag. And if your in a guys room with a 768-1.0 meg ul speed server and he is laggin he could have a serious packet loss case on his hands being the problem.

you say this is the most laggy game on xbl but also it is the most demanding game for host and requires the most ul to hold the maximum of any of the other games. if you dont liek lag then use the filter when searching for games, it stops you from even seeing the games where host falsely change their holding capacities.

it's not the game creating lag, its the morons trying to hold too many.

I have 384 upload 2000 downloadand I host 10 people w/full explosives and 12 people w/no explosions with GR and GRIT.....weird!!

The people posting here no very well EXACTLY what upload speeds theyve got, and exactly how many they can host.

This is not a case of the server setting the players too high, people here are reflecting on the difference between GR and GRIT.

I can host 8 with explosives on GR.

I can NOW host 4 with explosives on GRIT.

Your so wise, explain to a simple newb like myself whos been hosting since the test drive. I REALLY REALLY need the benefit of your wisdom.

Secondly it would seem you are.

To assume all hosts on GR or IT are MORONS just because we occasionally get lagg is way out of order.
If you read my post properly you'd have seen i have not had problems with hosting before, this is a recent problem, I havnt changed my methods of hosting, i havnt attempted to hold more in a room. The simple fact is that XBL has been experiencing major problems lately.
Ive always hosted with 8 people in the room with explosives on and rarly had a problem, my point when making the post is that in the last week the problem has been so bad we can't even keep people in the room to start a game.
I do have a brain contrary to what you might think and did check all other posibilitys before i posted on the forum, i was also well aware when i made the post that this problem is affecting all the other people i know with a very good connection who also have previously had no problems hosting. It would seem you didnt bother to check any other possibility before you came on here and posted your offensive message.
So do us all a favour and think before you speak next time.

Oh one more thing its us morons who host your games so think about that wont you.

Mrs Klean are you a moron? I certainly don't think so. Maybe numbnuts has the worlds greatest connection and NEVER gets any lag. Maybe numbnuts is having it away with the cable server( or whatever type of connection numbnuts has). MAYBE NUMBNUTS JUST DOES'NT HAVE A CLUE!!! Maybe numbnuts needs to join in one of your games to see how good your connection is. What a plonker he is.

but as devils advocate states: I think he meant in general and probably not calling anyone here a moron. I'm sure that as they(ninja....dude) read the initial post they would know you said you always had a good server and that you knew what you were talking about.

and if they didnt read the post they wouldnt know that you knew what you were talking about and that makes what they said less confusing than the last sentance.

I 'm not really sure what I'm talking about anymore but I do know I haven't had any problems hosting recently whilst running 2 xboxes thru a router. dont like hosting much tho /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

OK this is getting silly now, I can honestly say that when i first posted on this issue i actually thought it was a temperary problem and that it would sort itself out.

Not the case, Things did seem to improve for a short while (as in a few days ) but here we are many weeks later and nothings improved. Ive lost count of the clan matchs that ours and other clans have had to reshedule.
I was recently looking through Team Compete to challenge teams and almost all of them had a list of resheduled games starting the same time i first noticed the problem.

Isnt it about time something was done, Ive come of line early more times than i like to admit simply because the laggs driving me mad ( and thats putting it very politly). Last night was another one of those times.

Come on UBI and Microsoft it needs sorting. Ghost Recon is the most played XBL game there is. If the situation doesnt improve you may find everyone reverting back to pc gaming, and you having learnt an expensive lesson far too late.

Ok guys inform me because I have never owned a console so this is my question. Can you update drivers for a console or tweak the graphic settings to try and rid the game of lag etc????

no no and no snipe. The only system updates you can get are done by M$ and are automatic when you log on. Same with software.

As for setting, nope. Because were all running the same hardware there isnt (shouldnt?) be any need for it.

However this IS very annoying, hope R6 is waaaaaaaaaay better (online performance wise).

Has anyone played Soldier of Fortune 2 on the Xbox? What a crap game. However, it has the best net-code I've seen for the xbox. 512 u/l hosts lagless 12 player games, no random d/c and ejection, incredibly flawless except the game sucked!

SoF has proved to me that it can be done lagless, and other games ned to follow suit to the net code (not the game! heaven forbid! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

I'm not so sure the Lag problem resides so much with Ubi, rather it sits with MS.

If you guys remember, XBL shut down for a night a month back or so, to do upgrades, and from what I understand, they are still doing them internally.

I used to be able to host a 10 man room in GR, but in GRIT, right after the updates, I can now only host 8.

Not sure if it is true about MS upgrading their servers, etc, but this is what was told to me.

Your probably right. The thing is how hard can it be for microsoft to make a short statement to that effect, at least if we knew its something they're working on and that it will soon be sorted we might find it easier to deal with, especially knowing it would soon return to its former state of play.

I must be quite lucky with this game.

I normally play for two hours each night during the week and about 5-7 hours on friday night. I've not yet encountered these problems
