Thanks mate. That's a great start for me. Are there any articles out there on squad tactics, uses of formations etc? I spent just about all night searching the web, but drew a blank.

Try the book "Fighter tactics" by Robert Shaw,
or "Modern fighter tactics" by Bill Gunston.
They cover the subject very well, especially Robert Shaw. Bill's book has got more pictures and graphics.
