Keeps asking for CD even though it is there

I just installed CM9000 and it keeps asking for Disc1 upon starting. The disc is in the drive! I've written Ubi tech support, but have only received generic responses. I have the latest game patch and the latest firmware on the drive (pioneer A05).

I've heard that there is a patch that works around this problem. Does anyone know about this?
Any help would be grateful!

Just an update. I applied the patch which I found in the Google.Groups.

Try using a cd crack for the game, you can find one here: http://megagames.com/cracks/html/c906880_0.htm
Should ensure that you don't need to use the cd for chessmaster 9000 anymore.

Another problem that I have come across is if you are running any CD emulation software. You will need to uninstall to to play the game. I have had this prob and this was the only thing that solvedthe prob. Are you running any? (Alcohol 120%)

just one question: Do you have two drives?

If yes, try to put your cd in the other one, this sometimes can solve the problem.
