Just spent the last half hour nosing around the rest of the far cry forum. Turns out the copy protection checks your machine for the likes of clone cd, daemon tools, alcohol 120 etc. If you uninstall them not just delete them it resolves the problem. You may have already found this out yourself ? If not, gerrit done cos I'm up and running now. Cheers for the help folks.

I've got the same DVD drive as you (104) and my DVD copy of Far Cry works.

I've got the latest Firmwire update for the drive and none of the software that cmwright1 talked of.
