View Full Version : What is the best way to familiarise yourself with the MP maps?

Never played shooters online before so excuse the basic question but if I want to "do my homework" on the maps without actually getting into an MP game without a clue, is it possible to "walk" them solo?
If not, would the best thing be to get hold of a strategy guide with schematics?

I can answer that if your playin on PC:
You can just create a server and password protect . . . you'll be able to play by yourself, and no one will be able to get in unless you give them the password.
If you have a console, I'm not exactly sure how those would work.

I don't think anyone, but the MP development team, could answer that. But if you get the game when it releases, you can join the others in learning the maps. But it may be possible for you to host a game and lock it to keep others from joining??

I think the best thing to do is to just jump into the action, you'll learn as you go and pick up on different things and familiarize with the map at the same time. Keep in mind, that you won't be the only one who isn't familiar with the map, none of us are either. so, I say just jump in and play, you'll learn from your mistakes and quicly discover the do's and dont's to stay alive and win. You can only truly learn by experience.

maybe when MP comes out you can host your own game (if allowed) and password it so no one else can join, allowing you the freedom and access to the entire map. although then your missing out on precious seconds of playing as much SC:PT as possible before the next thing you have to do, i.e. school, work, chores

Acording to the report I read from that guy who won the contest and played some MP, there has to be one player on each team before the game can launch.
So the only way to do this, is to have more than one PC at home, and start your own lan server with both PC's loged into the game.
Thats what I will do...

Just create your own server (even if you can't host very well it won't lag for you) and go exploring http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif
