I have been getting a GPF everytime i try to get into the planning room. i cant do anything on the game which is really pi$$ing me off!

HOWEVER>>>

looking at the specification for the new release of patch 1.4 it may look like they are fixing this problem:

"Fixed some message pop-up boxes that would either freeze specific menus or the game as a whole. "

of course they are not going to say that they have fixed it because as so many people have this problem it may only fix it for a few (if any), and that would make them look even worse than they already do!

anywayz hope it gets fixed soon, cant wait to get playing it, its an amazing game!!

I've never had any kind of message box in game or out of game cause a GPF, so I'm assuming it's something different.

I dont think GPFs will be fixed in 1.4, to be honest I think the GPF problem is to do with rvs using an out-dated, buggy version of the unreal warfare engine, and it doesn't look like ubi plan on updating it or doing anything about it.

When the game was created they used the most up to date engine there was, the same for UT2K3.

Post the GPF message here. I can help.

There is that "oil_refinery" GPF error yet again! MODS can you research this. I have seen this error posted here tons of times. Is this map causing corrupt files, does it (map) need to be reinstalled, etc.

The only suggestion I have is one of two..

1. Delete this map and try playing without it, see if the GPF goes away.

2. Download the map from and reputable site and replace the old map with the new one.

Both are just ideas and I have no idea if they will work.

Remember this rule. . .

Just because it worked in/on someone else's computer does NOT mean it will work on yours!

Good Hunting!

The reason that you see the oil refinery error message so ofter is because it is the first level, it usually has nothing to do with the actual map files. Occassionally the map files can become corrupted, but that is usually the fault of a mod or a bad install of the game (from a cd-rw drive, or some other problem reading the information off the disk).

GPF error messages are thoroughly covered in the FAQ. Please read that first.
