Hi Folks

I was introduced to "Lomac" simulations by Andrew (Sync or Swim) and after leaving it downloading overnight (for a few days) over the modem I liked them a lot!

I've since got ADSL and have a local webserver with about 1.7gb of these files on.

The URL is at http://80.229.53.230/Lomac/files.html

In time some will stay and some will go. They have basic descriptions that when I get more time I will add to. If it's you're film and you want a link to your website and stuff, then just ask.

I've not got a lot of time to be playing computer games at the moment alas. I do have a games capable machine but I've not got that fare. Time is still a rare commodity at the moment.

The Adsl is 256/512 so be patient if a lot of people are accessing them please. No limits (yet)

Cheers

Elwyn

Well, obviously this is a good idea, the LAN switch light is more permanently on than flashing! for the server to the router http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If there are others that want to be hosted here for a time then let me know and I'll try to accomodate you.

Not sure how much space I've got left there, I've used about 3gb I think and I've got at least another 5gb available, if the right hard disk is in... famous last words. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This is a really good idea, and is one that I have had, but don't have the means to accomplish.

At the moment, I have about 1.2 gigs of Lock On movies (and I don't even own the game!!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif ), and about 3.5 gigs of IL2 movies on disk too. I would love to just set them up on a server somewhere for all and sundry to dl, but I don't have the ability to do that at the moment.

Well, there are two ways of doing this.

I do not have the facility yet for you to upload to my ftp server, as it's still in the development stage... I don't think my mail server can handle receiving the files either, so if you can upload them somewhere else I can download them and put them on the server.

Alternatively you could stick them onto DVD/CD's and I can upload them that way. I'm in the West Midlands in the UK if that helps http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Almost 70 viewings of this page in 24 hours http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That would explain why the server has taken over the connection. Everything froze, I've reduced the throughput but Its still playing up. I think I'll have to reduce the amount that is there, or split it up into groups or something. Didn't think this was going to take such a huge hit on performance ;(

The ping times to google have gone up from about 70ms to 5000ms!

Ahh well. Sorry if you've had problems this evening.

Evening...

Unfortunately I have temporarily removed this service from the network.

I tried to update the system to accept FTP this evening and it responded by basically disabling itself. It looks like a complete reinstallation is needed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif It would help if I had a complete backup of the machine, but I don't so it is going offline tonight (What's left of it) and off to a techie that can sort out the problem

Sorry http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
