I don't have much info on the release, but it looks like the date I gave earlier (October 28th) is not correct. It looks like the North American release that they are shooting for is in fact one week later, roughly November 6th. As always this date is not set in stone and could change.

From my side of things I have asked my boss to put in a request for either a dev team member, producer, or brand manager for Raven Shield to make regular apperances on the boards. I can't guarantee that it will happen but the request is in. If someone does show up please try to be polite in voicing your displeasure. They know many of you are upset and flaming them will not solve or prove anything.

Additionally one of the guys on my team is currently playing it and says it seems solid. When I get a chance to get a first hand look I may be better able to answer questions you may have. We have not yet been able to test the multiplayer aspect but hope to check it out in a few days.

So then what you are saying that all the vendors are being lied to about the October 28th release? Because with Best Buy, CompUSA, and EB have there websites stating release will be October 28th. Wow lets just keep pushing it back til next Christmas. First they said Sept 23rd, Oct. 3rd, Oct, 8th, now October 28th. Reading this about Novemeber 6th, wow can UBI get there story straight or what. But yet seeing above at he UBI website it says Jan 2004. Well at least tha tUBI is doing there delay tradition still, that is a great improvement.........not!

They'll ship it when it's done. Do you really want a buggy pruduct like RVS at release? Be patient

The best price so far. Checking now to see if it is in stock yet. Athena Sword was advertised in this Sunday's Best Buy ad flyer.

Brent,

Could you please explain UBI's dating from their online store which had Athena Sword releasing in January 2004?

Here's the link:

http://store.ubi.com/item.jsp?item=008888681106

I hate to say this, but I doubt many people will be around by the time January rolls around to continue playing this game....

Is this another UBI mistake?

Thanks,

Phil

the date to me is

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword
$29.99

Platform: PC
Release Date: Nov. 2003
ESRB: Blood
Violence

looks like nov 2003 to me

XyZspineZyX

So let me get this straight....first off they (Ubisoft) is going to pay me 29.99 to own this game, as a token of gratitude for putting up with the original installment of this game.

But seriously, Nov 2003.....lol, there are so many other "better quality" game titles being launched, I wasn't going to buy it anyway...even if they paid me to own it, and actually the money isn't the big issue here for me...rather it is my time.

Thanks Brent,
those of us that have been playing this series since '99 probably intend on getting Athena Sword. And I agree get it right the first time. Have you heard about another installment or mappack for later in November?
Also, make sure that when you test it you test in real world conditions preferably at home on a regular internet connection.I dont know what your office connections are, but like tha man said, 2 gig Lans arent what most people use to play on. I think this would open up a view( some say packet loss is to blame for some bugs) for youll for this game.
Last thing, is there any word on the future of this series, one of the mods I think it was, basically said round about way that the CT arena had played it self out, is Ubi or Red Storm going to continue this series? for what its worth it should be client sided again lol thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

No Delay for Athena Sword

Ubi Soft dispels rumors of a January, 2004 release, game still due October 28.
A small mistake ignited a firestorm of rumors today, when a typo on Ubi Soft's online store mislabeled Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword's release date as January 2004. When alerted to the fact by GameSpot, Ubi Soft quickly shot down the rumor. "That date is a mistake," a spokesperson said bluntly.
So although the Ubi site hasn't been corrected as of press time, gamers should see Athena Sword in stores on October 28.

Heaven forbid a game comes out later than the date posted on BB, CompUSA, EB, etc. Cause we KNOW those websites are ALWAYS accurate and every games comes out on the day those site post it to be.

Seriously, I'd rather wait a little more and get a relatively bugless game than for them to release it and patch it 4 months later, don't you?

Thanks for the update Brent. I hope we do get a Dev, as I believe that the majority of the negativity is a direct result of information starvation.

If the dev can be a little thick skinned, I think he'll find that the majority of those with complaints will turn out to be reasonable enough.
