No you don't. In fact you can't because the CD key has been used.
I had to do an install and install today. My player name and progress was saved. I did click on the register button, but closed out the browser window without entering anything. All worked fine! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
