Hey, sure some of you know about the revival of the Shelby Cobra. Well, who knows how the Cobra started? And why it's such a legend?

Basically, the Cobra was developed primarily to be faster than the Chevy Corvette. Well, it seems that Carroll Shelby might have over-did it quite a bit. Here's a quote from that page that sums it up quite nicely:

"After jumping into an early lead, Miles pitted for no reason. He let the entire field go by before re-entering the race. The crowd was jumping up and down as he stunned the Chevrolet drivers by easily passing the entire field to finish second behind MacDonald's other team Cobra. The Corvette people were completely demoralized."

those were pretty sweet cars. Iv only been able to see one and I did have a good look at it. Just wnet flying down the road at nighthttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Most likely it was a kit car. It's really hard to see one of the actual Shelby Cobras still running on the road because they are collector's items now. Most of them are in showrooms.

But I can't believe the guy had the nerve to stop and let the Vettes pass by just so he can embarrass them by passing them again. What a showoff, the Vette drivers were probably p'ed off. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Even though it was showing off, it's the fact that he pulled it off, really says a lot for the Shelby Cobra.
