You can't.

But it sure adds to the fun of a coop having some in there. And it makes for all sorts of possibilities for coop mission creators. Having a palette of AI planes available is one reason for creating and flying in coop missions, as opposed to the usual dogfighting servers.

Oleg has given us the power to set flyable planes as AI in coop missions which gives even more ways to vary the action for coop creators.
