Ok I was just on IGN http://xbox.ign.com/articles/476/476000p1.html and they had an abreviation for ELO saying that it stands for "Elliptical Lawyer Order" but I have heard everywhere else that it was some Chess ranking system designers last name? Anyone thoughts?

it's the last name of the guy who invented it and it's chess related. it's a way to determine which chess players are the best in the world even if individual chess players haven't played every other player in the world. acronyms have many meanings so the ELO on the website you listed is just an acronym for something else. like for programmers ASP means active server page, but it can also mean application service provider
