For anyone who remembers and is interested, I ran a second set of 100
games.

Basically, the personalities were Chessmaster 9000 with the following changes
in both runs:
pondering was off
randomization was set to 20
the opening book used by both runs had only one line, which was: 1. d4 d5 2.
c4 dxc4
after that, both white and black were out of book.

The only change I made for the second set of 100 games was that I also cloned
the ONE opening book that the two were using. So that while each had the same
knowledge of 4 plies as indicated above, Physically there were two books.

This may have had an influence since the second run showed 33 wins for
personality 1 and 29 wins for personality 2. This is much closer to what I
would have expected.

At what time controls did you play 'em out?
I think it's fairly fast 2...dxc4 they are both out of book. I think that being out of book is a bigger problem for then personaliry in blitz games than in standard. Perhaps the results would be different with another time control?

All games in both runs were at Fischer 15-15 time controls.
