PC Mic issues

My mic should work in the game. It doesn't. Can anyone help me troubleshoot it?

I tried to set up a server to test it but folks come on expecting a game and I feel bad about wasting their time.

Is there anyone with a SB Audigy 2 who can step me through the right settings?

Are there any mic settings in-game?

Where is the text written in the MP servers so that people joining me will know it's a mic test session before they join?

The only thing i know is, in the audio options there is a volume control for the mic turn it up to 10 and it may help. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
