I'd like to suggest adding a FPS cap option, similar to what's used in Soldier of fortune 2 and Halo PC.

Let's not kid ourselves here... this game wont run perfect on every system. limiting the FPS to 30 would definitely make for a smoother visual performance, rather than having to stare at the sky just to hit the limit (and this is on a r9800p and a64 3400+)

I'm a framerate ***** myself, but id much rather have a constant 45 or 30 for lower end machines, than a FPS that bounces all over the place. Thoughts? opinions?

I agree, I know in Flightsimulator 2004, they have this option and it makes a huge difference. SImply by freeing up the graphics card and processer to do other things. Anyways human eyes can't notice a difference much past 25fps

Just tried entering:

\g_maxfps 25 into the consol, makes no difference. You think you maybe have to be in devmode for this to work??

Does the full game (Mine STILL hasn't arrived!!) have a devmode?

Ok, works in Devmode.

To get debmode, change the target line in your Far-Cry shortcut to have -devmode on the end, outside the quotation marks.

Run the game.

Once you have the game running, type:

\g_maxfps

into the consol. Mine was set to 500!!!

To change it, type:

\g_maxfps 25

or whatever value you want.

Sorted! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

EDIT: Ok, I just loaded the screen that shows the FPS, changing the above value makes no difference, the FPS still jumps way up to 50+ when you look at teh sky. Sorry guys. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
