Really? Well that's news to me!

I live in the UK and as far as I'm aware we have no upgrade options available.

It really is sad that chessmaster veterans have to pay 30-40 bucks every time there is a new version. There should be an update for older users. buying the complete program is just not fair.

Us Fritz users also have to pay everytime we want a new version of Fritz. At least CM series go down in price after a while. I got CMX for $20. We can't really say it's not fair, though. Nintendo never let us upgrade from Mario games to their sequels, and Capcom never let us upgrade from Resident Evil to RE2. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

IIRC, there is usually a short period of time after the new version comes out in which users of the previous version can buy the new version at a $10 discount. I suspect that time has long passed. :-)
