Hi, i'm using a MS Sidewinder Pro. It's nice everything on it works within LOMAC (shift keys can be assigned, twist rudder works etc.). The problem is when things get busy and I have to slew for example the Maverick seeker over a target, it's often irresponsive (I do this with the 'hat'); it often doesnt pick up the shift button, and hence moves my head instead of the seeker head.

Keyboard seems also somewhat irresponsive; sometimes you seem to have to press keys twice in order to get effect.

Is this a known problem with LOMAC? My FPS are often ~10.

Asus A7N8X Deluxe v2.0
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
Club3d ATI Radeon 9600Pro
TwinMOS 2x 512Mb PC3200 CL2.5

10 FPS?!?!?! Man how can you bear to play at that speed!!! Drop your graphics settings RIGHT down. You'd want to play at a solid 20-22 at the very least! (Have you checked out LOMAN and it's performance/FPS tweaks?)
Anyway, back to your actual issue. I have the same joystick and don't really have that problem. Although such low FPS means your CPU is being smashed and it could possibly be causing your keyboard to lag. I personally use the arrow keys on my keyboard to slew the designator and have the long, thin, thumb button to lock on. I reckon the hat switch on this stick is to clunky and lacks precision.

Hmm I wasn't quite accurate: my joystick is the
MS Sidewinder _Precision_ Pro. Anyway, reading up on the v1.1 bugs in the bugs board, it seems joystick irresponsivity is a widespread problem, introduced/worsened by the patch.

Don't worry i have same problem with my saitek X36 HOTAS, I run on a "medium-range" system and have decent FPS, but still every time i get a slowdown my joystick buttons (not axes) stop responding and i have to switch to keyboard instead, like when I want to shoot i press joy button, nothing happens, instead i press space and it works just fine, Or i can press the joy button repeatedly until it fires but then it's often to late http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But as I said don't worry, Eagle Dynamics are aware of the problem and it has been corrected with the 1.02 patch which unfortunally hasn't been released yet but will be out soon.
