Hi Crytek,

I have tried out the demo. Very impressive graphics!! But...why make a game look so good and yet so slow? The game definitely need some optimization to make it run faster and smoother. I have a list of what I think you guys need to improve on to perfect the game.

1) Improve the frame rate. It's way too slow even for a P4 2.6Ghz with a Gfx5900U or an Ati9800pro. I'm looking at 60 to 85 fps consistently throughout the game at 1024 x 768 with all details set to high (very high will be most preferred) without AA/AF.

2) Most of the objects looks great except the grenade. I prefer Halo's master chief grenade. Looks better to me and more realistic especially when thrown. Its more bouncy (i can't think of a better word to describe).

3) Can the boats be pushed back to the water?? Its really dumb to get stuck on shore.

4) Can the boats be arm with some rocket ammo by default?

5) I find the character movement in the game very rigid. Its like Jack just had a dip in a wet crement pond. (Comparing to Halo, i prefer master chief's movement rate.)

6) Binoculars movement is too slow. Why isn't it in sync with the normal cursor movement that we specified? You can always have a binocular sensitivity settings in the option menu if you don't wanna sync is with the default mouse sensitivity settings.

7) Sniper zoom shot it very bad!! Too shaky!! I can hardly aim at anything!! Look guys, this is a game. Its suppose to be enjoyable, fun etc. Not taxing to the eyes or finger!

8) Can the helicopters be made destructible? I tried firing 2 rocket launchers at one of the helicopters, but didn't managed to bring it down.

9) Its there a way to build in some functions to detect ammos or weapons in the area? Or make them more visible like shining or glowing lights?? I killed a few enemies in the forest but took me a while to locate their weapons.

10) Please change the controls for crouching. I don't wanna hold down the "ctrl" key to crouch. Why not use call of duty's settings instead? They have specific keys to toggle between standing, crouching and lying down positions.

That's all for today. I really hope you guys will improve most of the items in the list. Of course, the first and foremost improvement that needs your attention is the performance of the game. Please try to improve the frame rates. As a rule of thumb, First Person Shooter games should have at least 60fps to really enjoy the game.

Last but not least, great job on the graphics!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I mainly want to comment on item number 7.

I like the fact that the sniper rifle is shaky... Try laying down to shoot it, how do you think real snipers get their good shots.

This FEATURE of the game as I will call it adds a greatly needed dimension to sniper rifles in many games. If you don't make it shaky the sniper rifle becomes a noobstick which takes no time to master.

I say: "hats off to the crytek guys for making a sniper rifle that I won't mind having in a game. It's a joy to see some game developers making a sniper rifle exactly what it should be; an awsome weapon in the right hands and in the right hands alone"

Oh stop whining you pantywaste nancy. I'm getting 30-40fps with all the options on and I'm using P4 3.2Ghz, 1GB Corsaire XMS Memory, GF4 Ti4600, Audigy2 no AA/AF all options set to Very High.

And stop comparing the game Halo. Halo is arcade console trash. Everything I've seen in FarCry so far is pretty dead-on to real life... and that's the way most of us like it. Go play some more Halo and get off our forums.
Respectfully,
Scrivener

I don't even think the human eye can see over 60 fps.

your comment is total bullsh.t except points 1) AA doesnt work on Radeon 9800 pro-- Crytek should leave the rest of it as it is....great !
Crytek team totally rules !!

@point 3) SIMPLY CLIMB OUT OF BOATS BEFORE YOU REACH THE SHORE, ever thought of that ??!!
