I know of no better tool than qmt for quickly cloning flights in missions, and that's what I use it for most often. I hope it gets updated to include AEP extras. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

QMT is very good for :
- Making small modifications : skins (especially change a complete squadron skins), weather, briefing
- Checking quickly a mission
- "Cloning" a mission to have a lot of variants (ex : change player aircraft, change aircraft type), though a simple "save as" option would be very good for this

My typical applications are :
- During a dynamic campaign, there is something I don't like : I modify it. Ex : default skin for a squadron, simple ahistorical features for a given mission ...
- I found a dynamic campaign mission interesting : I turn it into a single mission, making the necessary changes.

As a whole, I use QMT very often and I am pleased with it.

QMT is an excellent tool... I use it for making changes in campaigns I download from the net, to include my skins instead of default skins, for example, or to make a lighter version of a mission using default skins if it is too heavy...

Also, I use it to check skins on all the mission I put on the net...

You are right Gaston,
Skin management is also very easy with QMT.
It would even be easier if there were a "kin checker" : a small option which checks all the skins for all aircraft in the mission and warns the user : which skin is available or not.

An excellent tool, I use it for tweaking all of my missions. Just waiting for it to be updated for AEP.
Cheers!

I'll have to take a look at it.
It sounds like a usefull tool. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Do you have a link to download? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

A link to QMT then.
It can be found a t www.uberdemon.com (http://www.uberdemon.com) (Look for "Shift_E's QMT page)

QMT = Quick mission tuner. You can do things with it that would take far longer from within the FMB. Also, if you find yourself opening missions in notepad or similar text editor then this is the tool for you.

There is a reason for this poll.

I have been in touch with Shift_E for some time now to provide him with feedback and request feature changes etc...

I recently contacted him asking if/when a new release of QMT would be available as it currently doesn't support the new AEP planeset.

He isn't really developing it anymore as he feels that there simply isn't the need for it!?!

I was quite surprised as I'd assumed that most mission builders would be using it by now.
I am lost without it at the moment.

Anyway I hope that Shift_E sees this and realises that his tool is invaluable after all.

Big thanks from me to him http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

As to adaptation for AEP, I am ready to help :
The main point is the addition of new aircraft in config file which is ASCII, as far as I have seen :
If the format is clearly explained to me, I can try it.

I am a real fan of this tool ...

Seems like a good enhancement. I DL'd the .zip and will try it tonight. I'll be interested in jeanba2's tests to see if we can incorporate AEP a/c.

Used it a little tonight. It works, but doesn't seem to add much value for me. Working in FMB takes a few more clicks, but all the functions are there.

An advantage of QMT over the FMB is that you may easily check a particular flight, even if you do not know where it is.

It does look interesting.

I'll give it a try since I am in the middle of a project http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif and the one thing I am short of is time. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

this need to come back to the top - SHIFT-E if only one person finds it useful then it is useful m8. you have MANY [and if only 1 out of 10 actually post then it's MANY MANY] people here who use it. If you make historic missions it's even more useful, especially if "new" skins become available. i make movies and i have to try out different variations and i could do it without it - come-on update it for the gipper

I found it faster to use FMB and more accurate as you can run the mission from in the FMB to see if your adjustments worked ok.

Have never tried it.
Still learning FMB.

Just a quick tip - I use FMB to make the bulk of a mission and then minimise to desktop to run QMT. It's really handy for assigning skins and cloning flights -once I've updated a mission in QMT I then reload it in FMB. That way I have the best of both worlds.

After it was refeuled i climbed in.With many manipulations the mechcanics started the turbines.I followed their actions with the greatest of interest. The first one started quite easily.the second caught fire.In no time the whole engine was on fire.Luckily as a fighter pilot i was used to getting quickly out of the cockpit. The fire was quickly put out.The second plane caused no trouble - Adolf Galland (first time in a ME262)
