I was just wondering if in the sequel the left peek glicthes tiptoe's etc are gone...
Cause that is a big problem in GR...
I was just wondering what RedStorm did for this..

I wouldn't worry about it. It will be a new 3d engine and won't work the same way. Therefore, it probably won't have the same problems.

There will be new glitches in the game.
Glitches like you have in any other game.
I just hope they will use a good AC and frequently update it.
Gameplay must be the same or better.. otherwise loads of people will drown off being dissapointed.
The R6 engine sucks big time... hopefully Ubi isnt to stupid to use that.

Well the more polygons you have the less likely you're likely to get the crater glitches out. However, walls will tend to be flat surfaces so you might still see problems there (there are ways around those too though). I've actually liked RSE's engines despite their apparent shortcomings. However, You've got to remember that UBI has licensed out a couple of big name 3d engines since GR was originally released. Even if it's a new engine developed in house they've had a chance for a good look at other engines to see how they run since that time. Nothing like buying a shot to examine your competitors coding to help you improve your own. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Don't think the crater glitches have anything to do with poly counts, i think its to do with collision boxes being out of position, like the peek glitches are camera positioning bugs.

That is a really good point Thoramir. I wonder if the Raven Shield use of the unreal engine wasn't a marketing move just to allow RSE to take a peek at the engine. Then they can use some of the good stuff and leave the garbage behind.
Either way, I just hope that this contact between Unreal and RSE has left RSE unsullied. I'm also really looking forward to see what was meant by,
"...Ubisoft is expanding its lineup of war games to every segment of the military category, from historical to near future..."
I have bought several games since GR but now those games are collecting dust on the shelf while I'm playing (and modding) GR. Even as they continue to put out new mission packs for the 'other' games, I'm not spending another penny on them. For that matter I haven't even bothered finishing the single player missions because as I'm playing them I just keep thinking GR is so much better than this. The players are bouncing around or firing the weapons is like shooting a laser or there I am taking hit after hit only to be 'fixed up' with hidden med kit. They lack all realism.
If we were to lose GR, I think it would send Computer Gaming down a path more toward 'candy land' and less toward realism. If we lose GR, I lose gaming.
The guys at RSE aren't just making video games, they're carrying on a Crusade http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
IT'S A WHOLE MOVEMENT!
