Well, I hear alot of things between the two, what's your reason for leaving the AMD "bandwagon" as you put it, if you dont mind me asking?

Intel = Reliable, Good support, good for everyday use.
AMD = Fast @ lower prices (And clocks), good for games.
Basic knowledge about the two leading Cpu manufacters.
(This is based on MY knowledge and could be wrong in theory.)

I have an Athlon64 3200+ in my rig. After numerous comparisons to other P4 machines equipped with the same vid card (9800Pro), it's equal to a P4@ 3.4Ghz. Thats pretty damn fast. That's with NO overclocking, just raw speed baby.

Recent reports state Intell has actually mothballed it's new line of CPU's due to "too much heat generated".
AMD chips do run cooler than Intel, that's another plus.

A 3200+ is equal to a 3.2GHz or faster Intel processor. The 3400+ is a good one to look at as well. Faster than Intels 3.4GHz and even dukes it out with the 3.2EE for about 500 dollars less and it's 64 bit ready. Can't beat that and it runs nice and cool with standard heatsync models. I would reccomend AMD's current line of processors when it comes to FarCry or gaming in general.
