First, my system specs:
Operating System: Windows 98se (4.10, Build 2222) A
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
Memory: 256MB RAM
Page File: 48MB used, 335MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0902)
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 450
Display Memory: 128 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit)(75Hz)
Driver Version: 4.14.0010.5664 (English)
I've played the sp missions with these spec's with np.
However, Sandbox seems to be a problem for me.
The below pic seems tobe about all i can do with a map.

If i change the layout to the perspective view i get a gray screen or somthing like this.
http://theadvocator.org/sectorzero.us/ss1.jpg
If i try to rotate perspective view it usually is just gray and the axis does this.

I see lots of pictures with models on the terrain and viewing it at terrain level but i haven't been able to do this and i'm wondering if its me or do i need alot more memory...
Is there anything special about the dds format to get a custom skin on a model?
I made a argb dds texture and put it in a new pak file and hex edited it into the cgf i made with Barfhappy's tool but it never works.
The wood76.dds does show on my models for other tests.
Havoc physic's: Anyone got info on whats needed to apply and modify physics for a mesh?
I wanted to get some hover tank physics if thats possible.(like Battlezone)
Structures: I wanted to have buildings that can blow up a couple times, anyone with info about how this can be done, wiit LODs or ....?
Is anyone doing pilotable aircraft? If so, is verticle landing/takeoff possible? (i see the engines rotate like this on the big choper)
What about applying smoke and flame emiters for vehicles, aircraft and bulidings?
Any possiblity for tracked tanks?
So if anyone with similar spec's has these kinds of problems or needs this kind of info speak up.
Maybe Swoop or AEon could write a tut giving us some step by step instructions ie: "Sandbox for Dummy's" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
