First off, i would like to say that this game kicks so much *** and i would like to congradulate ubi and crytech on their hard work.

Ok, now my problem. The sound is great and i love it, but during the game for some reason, the music and gunfire sounds will just stop. I have no clue why it does this. There is also a sound delay.

My system is as follows:

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo
Geil 512mb PC3200 DDR 400
ATI Radeon 9000 (Non-Pro) 64mb
Onboard Nvidia SoundStorm Sound Card

I'm having sound problems as well. When you said "There is also a sound delay" Did you mean it freezes for about 4 to 5 seconds when trying to play some sounds? Thats the problem i'm having. Here are my specs,

AMD Athlon 1400
512MB Ram
ATI Radeon 9200 64MB
Creative Sound Blaster Vibra 128

Someone please suggest something! <http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

no mine doesnt freeze, it is just delayed. Like if i start shooting the assault rifle (m4) i will see it start to shoot, but the acutal sound comes like a second later. Also i have tried turning every sound option off and it still does it. i have tried everything on and still no dice. also i have tried combinations of some and still it is delayed and then will go out.

I'm also getting a sound delay. All sounds seem to happen a second later than the event happened. My gunfire, enemy gunfire, foot steps, brush sounds, everything.

AthlonXP3000
Soyo Dragon kt400 Ultra Platinum (onboard sound)
Prolink GeforceFX 5900
Kingston 512mb pc2700

Hmmm, well your problems sound like something to do with the hardware accel. Try fiddling with the settings in-game and if that doesn't help.

Go to /settings/control panel/sounds and multimedia...

then click the tab labled audio,

then click advanced in the sound playback section

then click the tab labled performance

now you've got two sliders for Hardware accel level (I found the 2nd setting best)

and sound quality (i'd leave this on the 3rd setting).
I hope that helped.

I had this same problem when I set the sound mode to "surround sound". I set it back to stereo (tried quadrophonic, as well), and get rid of the delay.
