Hi, just wanna say I appreciate the map test of offset bumpmapping http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Now for my question, I see in teh database view in materials that you use a shader called "TemplModelCommon_Offset_PS20" but its not in my shaders list (believe me I looked). Im running farcry 1.2 (despite the negative hype around 1.2, it works perfectly for me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif ) so basicaly my concern is where did you get "TemplModelCommon_Offset_PS20" from? Again thx alot for contributing so much of your time to teh community http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Have you set all your video settings to VERY HIGH

Open farcy goto your options and turn them all up to very high.

Clsoe farcry...Open sandbox.

The shader should be available now.

doh! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

yeah I did that last night and it was there LOL. I'll be getting Photoshop installed in this comp sometime in teh next week or too so I cant play with grey scales for now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I really like the offset bump mapping, Im working on a map roght now been now taht I know about the Cryengine's offset bumpmapping capabilities, I stopped production to learn how to apply bumpmapping to every possible instance I can on the map. This is surely worth it, can you imagine a map where offset mapping is just about everywhere?! Thx again to the awesome dudeman for revealing this to so many in teh community.

P.S. Is it really true that most modders have left this forum and went to teh crymod forums? If so, then I got left behind....wait up guys! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif (footsteps heard; door shuts closed)

Not sure.

I personally like this forum as its easier on my eyes to read..and its easier to keep track of what threads Ive read.

But I visit both of thm (In fact whilst Im at work Im always dropping in to both of them)

This has huge amounts of info wher crymod is new and has to catch up

Personally I prefare this forum. I just thought you might get the info you needed there. So dont leave this forum, visit both and get the best of both worlds http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah I agree, the colors and especially the font size is much easier on the eyes! (here that is)

Im not leaving, plenty of talented mappers and modders still come here, and so will I. I will go check teh other forum since im signed up there anyway. Ok, back to mapping since i have sometime now.

hey, my pleasure will be in seeing people put this to use. ;D Thx for the shout out though

And yeah things are a bit slow here, I usually check crymod first... Myself, I've been on a vacation from modding but I'm going to get around to starting up a major project soon... So much possible with this engine http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
