I totally agree! I think RS is a great game (I donâ´t have the problems that everyone else seems to have with bugs etc) and Athena Sword looks awesome!

anyways, I don't know how people can complain so roughly about this company but yet can say "well I'm getting the game! It will be the best!"

Not judging anyone, or anything... just as an observation. It just doesn't make sense screwing yourself over two times. Then it is not Ubisoft's fault, it's you're own for not learning from the first rip-off.

I don't know, I know that the rainbow series games are pretty darn tempting reguardless of all the faults in the game's inner workings... but all I can suggest is to wait a while after 1.4 comes out (probably being released sometime before athena sword comes out, and athena sword will probably be shipped with the "fixes" of that patch), and check if it fixed some things... if it didn't fix much, or you are not satisfied with the patch, you can always wait until the next one, or until they get it right (which may never happen).

I don't know, all Ubisoft cares about is $$$, so I don't know if I'd feed that animal what it eats just so it can get bigger and need more $$$ from my pocket. SLAY the BEAST!

singleplayer and coop are the only things i play! i love RVS and will get athena sword for the new single player missions.

i think is sucks that some people get these bugs and some dont. kinda makes ya think that if it was the software, everyone that owns a copy of it would have this problem, although i do experience these same issues, just not a frequently or to the degree that everyone else gets.

so before passing judgement on athena sword and how good or bad it might be, i think we should just wait to see what patch 1.4 gives us and go from there

well im probably going to save the money and give SWAT4 UJ a go, SWAT 3 was far ahead of the best of the R6 series (please dont burn the heratic) when it was released, and until RvS came out nothing could even approach it (even RvS still doesnt surpass it IMO)

I love the R6 series but SWAT3 still beats it hands down

(at least you can still hand cuff the tangos and do them execution style)

hmmm i wonder where UBI got the CS gas and hand cuff ideas from, hmmm

I'd be weary of UJ. It has been delayed so many times and has had a few engine changes. Also the Producer responsible for SWAT3 quite b/c of differences with Sierra on the direction of the game. He wanted realism and they want arcade. Looks like a Novalogic job on this one.

Hmmm I'm not going to "boycot" it, but I'm not going to buy it either. Decided to install bf1942 again, had great fun ever since.

UO made RS better, but after a great start nobody but a few sticked with it (I played on the zone, don't know if this was the case with gamespy as well). But I am not really worried, r6 expansions have always been good (except those greedy Covert Ops and Black Thorn efforts). I hope the new maps are good, because some Rvs maps are downright awful.
Anything new is welcome, the standard maps are getting a bit old and servers are reluctant to cycle custom maps (any idea why??)

Not sure Boycoting is the right idea.

But I have been reading the other sections of this forum and alot of ppl seem to think that the expansion pack is just a big patch/fix with a couple of maps chucked in and possibly the linux dedi server.

If this is true and they are charging for it then I will very happily uninstall RvS and carry on playing BF1942.

At the moment I dont seem to have any problems with RvS but I have been waiting for the linux server for a long time and still no ETA. I was hoping to start a clan for this game but as the BF1942 linux server is now out and has been tested I may run this and go for a 1942 clan instead.


Its a shame that first UBI release a game with so many issues that ppl have and then lie about a release date for their dedi server stuff.

Now it looks like they are going to make you pay for the repairs to a faulty game with the expansion pack.


That like buying car that won't start and then having to pay again to get it working..... I won't be doing this as money is not free flowing at the moment.


I will of course watch out in these forums and see what happens and may perhaps reinstall RvS if the linux server ever appears.
