GR - XBox - General Questions

I have rented GR with the intent to buy in the near future. Since Blockbuster decided I don't need the manual to play, I'm left with some questions.

1. How do I get one of the squads to advance using the map screen? I am able to select either Alpha or Bravo and then click on the map where I want them to go, but after that, nothing happens. I just exit out of the map and wait, but they just stand there???

2. What is the circle thing in front of you all the time? I've kind of deduced that whichever section is yellow is the way you want to be headed and the small blue arrow is North. Is this right?

3. Is there anyway to set a default team? Every time I complete a mission, I have to reselect all my guys. This gets tiresome and time consuming.

Hi buddy i dont own a xbox and the setup is a bit different but I can help you with thr TI threat indicator.

Ok the red dot in the middle means there are tangos within 40 metres of you. The yellow circle sections is the direction which the enemy are. When the yellow section flashs red that is enemy rifle fire. The blue arrow on the outside edge of the TI is your compass and faces north and the other small blue arrow is your next way point.

Sorry I cant help you anymore because if I do I maybe giving you the wrong way of doing it compared to PC GAME.

Hi there,

Perhaps this is a solution for the advancement of your squads:

Go to your command map and select the team you want to advance. Set the waypoint and exit the command map. Make sure that you are not playing with the team you want to set a waypoint for. This will not work, as you yourself are the 'captain' of that team. It will only work with a team you are not currently playing with.

Perhaps this is not the problem at all, but maybe it is...

Hi

1. To set waypoints on the map.

Pull the left trigger to bring up the map. Move the left control stick until you have highlighted the tab at the top of the screen, when you click on the A button this will change between Alpha Squad, Bravo Squad and Both Squads, choose which squad you want to issue a waypoint to with this tab, once selected let go of the control stick and it will take you back to the map (NB: If you want to zoom the map in click R3 - right control stick pressed in) now move the cursor using the D-Pad to where you want the waypoint and press A, you can string multiple waypoints together.
NB after placing a waypoint you may find that the line flashes, just wait a moment and it will select a path round the obstacle

2. Circle in centre of screen

This is your threat indicator the orange segments point in the rough direction of a threat, if the centre bit turns red this means there is an enemy within 40metres. The blue arrow around the outside always points north. Once you have placed waypoints on the map you will get a white arrow showing the direction to travel to get to the waypoint.

As for selecting your team members each time... no fix to this. Either let the computer select members automatically for you or you select your own guys... every time!

I prefer to select my own guys now that I know what's going on. Sure it takes more time, but that's part of the game... picking the right men for your squad. I like it.

...Same here, -The video stores ought to enforce their "You lose-you buy" rule that should apply to the manual book also.
I've rented many-a-games that had missing instructions.

This is half the problem that the stores just find it too hard to track down missing manuals from these thieving or people who don't care for others property. Your still going to hire it with out a manual so what do they care. It wouldn't be too hard to place a photo copy of the manual with the out going game.

Too many people have the game but lost the manual so they take one out of a rental game instead of paying Ubi $5 for a new manual.
