I feel you, I too worried about time invested in this infernal sim! Don't worry, the squad mostly meets on sundays in HL and sometimes Sat. as well. Not too bad. Okay the Hulk was pretty bad, but the graphics were excellent. The Commanche helicopter and the M1 tank scenes were fantastic. They actually looked and moved realistically, on top of the photorealistic rendering.

BTW

Looking to join and FB LW fighter outfit. Bombing was never my best skill, back when I played Warbirds always hated it when we (III/jg2) got assigned JABO work in our 190a8s during our scenarios (same idea as IL2/FB online wars).

No one is as qualified to take these things seriously as fritz is. He puts alot of his personal time and effort into the squad so I think he should be allowed to defend it however he wants. I found the reaction kind of strange from you guys. I've been talking/ragging on you guys since you first started this squad. I thought you knew it was all in good fun.


It's also getting pretty old saying someone has no life , because they have a high post count, or they can't ever fly, because they post to much. If you take into account how long i've been on this forum. It works out to 8 posts a day. Does this leave time for a life? Hey Buzz... For the heck of it some time you should just fly with us (voicecomms and all) so you can get an impression of what "those guys in their crappy Stukas" are all about.
As long as you can more or less fly formation everything should be fine, and: I make sure that your position is one safely somewhere in the middle of the formation. (and put Kondor in tail-end Charlie position for wanting to "group-hug") /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

And here comes the thing Buzz: You will first hand experience what "fighter escort" means to us and why we are making all those fighter pilot jokes. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Youll also figure out that we dont rely, nor count on any escort but instead increase our survival chances online by using tactics and teamwork, mission planning etcetera.
And ofcourse: Hell yeah we get shot down (mostly by FLAK though /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif ) but survival chances are pretty high over all. (Certainly not like the lone Stuka survival % in a DF server.)

Anyway, just to show you i'm not a die hard fighter pilot. I applied, and was accepted in the 61SHAP squad. (IL2's only) I'm still thinking about which way to go on a squad. I'm sort of waiting for the final patch before I decide. The Stuka is not one of my favorite planes, but I haven't ruled anything out at this point.

I know, bombers are a strange breed, if only for being proud of voluntarily committing suicide flying slow and vulnerable Stukas online. (escpecialy if the enemy is flying those flying barndoors) /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

How sweet is the victory though if we destroy our target and a good number of aircraft makes it home in more or less one piece. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yes we are always looking for people who enjoy flying the Ju87 and other luftwaffe bombers/jagd-bombers in FB /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif .

Currently our CO is on holiday, he is supposed to be back later this week.
