Please help 21% 'Climbing the Tower' PC VERSION

Okay, I've seen quite a few threads about this bit, most of them say 'jump onto the wall and rebound' (I'm trying to get from one bar to another directly above it). Fine. That's what I figured you had to do. But I can't. I have spent hours trying to do it, tried varying timings and positions. I just can't do it. There was a bit earlier in the game when you had to rebound off a wall to get to a higher bar, and I did that first time, easy as anything. But I can't do this one. If I move the camera so I can see the jump properly, it looks like I'm not even close. Is there some special technique that escapes me? Do I need to be in a particular spot? Some people have made reference to timing, any hints?

Please help, this game is class but I'm gettin' right browned off.

are you sure there isnt a ledge to jump to ... or a bar on the other side to swing too...did you try turning around to look behind you? There has to be something youre missing...if its just the wall..then yea..on pc..would be a timing issue if he isnt jumping back from the wall to the pole...


I know...it gets frustrating..make sure you are swinging enough too. Try more than 2 swings and see if that helps...

Nah, I've tried swinging any number of times. I guess I must be doing something wrong though, cos I went back to 7% ('You have unleashed the sands of time'), which is the first time you have to do the bars (in the guest bedroom, it's got a four poster bed in it) and I couldn't do them! I don't recall how I did it first time around, but when I try to jump from the penultimate bar to the final one down that first side, he doesn't jump far enough. One of the other bars, sometimes he makes it and sometimes he doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it though. The only way I can get past it is to bounce between the wall and a column a few times, this gets me to the last bar, from which I can jump to a ledge on the wall.

Anyway, back to 21% 'Climbing the Tower' (circular room, rubble at the back, save game point in the middle. You climb up the rubble, wall run up to a ledge. Walk along ledge to the right, it collapses. Jump to a bar, next bar, another bar, then a bar by the wall. There's another bar above me, which i'm pretty sure is where I need to be.) I can't get the wall jump to work, and I can't see anything else to do. Everyone on the PS2/Xbox versions seem to say it's just a wall jump. Is there anyone out there playing the PC version who can either tell what I'm suppossed to do, or give me the idiots guide to bar swinging / wall jumping.

I dont remember using the wall to get to the last bar...I cant remember...whoa..brain fart...and I can usually remember that stuff.


I dont recall using the walls at all in that part..but I could be wrong..

Timin is a big issue in this game..it sucks..I fell to my death many a time doing that jump wall to wall thing..couldnt get the lead foot thing down..


Sorry I couldnt be of more help,...but heres a suggestion...

Take a break....get some air...rub your fingers and get the feeling back in them again...brush the knots out of your hair...and then go back and try again. LOL..best I can think of at this point!

I have the PC version and have the same problem. Cant get him to jump from bar-wall-bar. I'm surprised there are not a lot of people have this problem. Anyway, if yall find out how, please share!!

Hi, I am happy to say that I managed to do it :-)

Unfortunately, I'm still not sure how :-(

This is gonna sound weird, but all I did different was move him all the way to the right on the bar, then move the camera so it was real close and looking at him sideways. This means that when you jump to the wall, he actually goes off screen, and everything gets really confusing. I panicked, hit loads of buttons, and hey presto, i landed on the top bar. All I can really recommend is keep trying, like Persia'sGirl said. Once you've done that one, the rest are a doddle, and you can get to the next restart point really easily. I think it must be some tiny little timing thing or something like that.

Sorry I can't help more, but just stick with it. I think most people just went past it without even noticing, in most places you can jump however you want and it doesn't matter. I guess this bit needs you to be precise or something.

I've been stuck at this point for about 2 days now. Unfortunately, none of the angles and timings I've tried seem to get the prince to the bar above him, This could be an issue with the PC version.

If someone manages to find a solution to this, I'd appreciate your help.

i'm stucked in the begining of 21%.I jump 4 bars but cant reach the 5th bar which is above the 4th bar . I even do a wall jump but I cant reach
the 5th bar.i'm getting frustrated .I would be thankful for any help?

ok.. this is what u have to do...

When u are holding on the bar, u have to jump to the wall and then jump back. I know u already tried a lot.... but...
U have to get the camera closer to the prince... and see him for his left side. (u cant see the wall at this position)
Now, jump normally.. and jump back...
it takes a 3 to 5 jumps to make it... but it works

Unfortunately, I too am stuck at this wall jump to the 5th bar (also PC version). I will attempt to recreate Nemo's condition and continue to try it. I've only spent 3 hrs on it so far, but I don't think it was meant to be this difficult. -Rod

Using the slow motion while zoomed in on the prince (with the prince all the way to the right on the bar) did the trick. -Rod
