What might cause sniper scope not to work?

Hi All! I can't seem to get the scope to work on the sniper rifle. (I assume it works similiar to other games like Wolfenstein???). The MW up and down just change my weapon, '+' and '-' don't do anything. I'd appreciate any help. thanks

have you tried the secondary fire button = mouse 2 / right mouse button to bring up the scope then use mouse wheel to zoom in /out. check options -> controls .

I remapped the controls and made the right mouse button JUMP (old QUAKE habit :-)). What should Mouse2 be? thanks

mouse 2 is originaly assigned as Alt fire I belive.. try reseting your controls back to default, then re-assign everything but mouse 1 and 2

Why not? People have all sorts of questions. Some even wonder how to scale their signature images so that they display properly.

IRT sharpsplinter: forums are for people at all levels.

IRT sWEaT_dreams: If you are using custom control settings and you, don't have to default back and reset them all again. When you set jump to be MB2, you cleared out the control for alternate fire. All you have to do is open up controls from the menu, find alt fire, and set it to something else. Just keep in mind that in Far Cry, along with almost every other game with customizable controls, if you set something to use a button or key that is already in use, whatever it was used for will become unmapped. Always look through the list FIRST, to see if the button/key you want to use is already in use, so that you know to remap it when you're done. At the very least, scan over the list of controls after you have changed the settings to suit your taste and make sure that none of the controls are blank.

Yeah, but it could be more realistic. When you die, the game should be deleted from your hard drive and your serial number permanently invalidated.
