Ok, the demo does not run on my mobility radeon 7500. Fine. As long as the final full game runs. But I am not going to preorder it if UbiSoft doesn't tell me that they fixed the problem and that it is going to RUN!

since when are mobility cards or to put it in general, "laptops" a gaming platform?

It runs fine on my mobility radeon 9000, so it's not a simple mobility thing. It's a Dell 8100 with a 64Mb 9000 and runs excellent with most settings on low at 1024x768.

that's a 9000 wich is way more powerful than a 7500 and you can only run the game on low.. imagine the 7500...

I never considered my laptop a "gaming platform". And I am not planning on playing Far Cry on a high detail level, I just want it to run. If it's on 800x600 and low detail settings, that's fine ...

Well like I'm tired of typing, your laptop can't run it simply put. Read the spect if you want more official info

I have a 16.1" Sony vaio laptop with the mob ati 7500 and omega drivers and I can't get either pcgamer's version or internets version of this game to run. This is my gaming platform and it rocks even if it's 2 years old. foutch@realtracs.com for info. thanks

You guys can knock the 7500 all you want, but it is not lack of power that is keeping poor psychoiceman from playing the beloved demo. No my friends, it is the tyrany set down uppon us by the system check built into the demo. If the ati card is not on the little list the demo has, it won't try to run. Not it can't run, that isn't the issue, it can, it has the power, it just won't try. The 9000 are supposed to come with catalyst drivers, so they are on that little list. That is the only reason it will run and the 7500 will not, so everyone that says "my mobility 9xxx will run it, you just have to _insert stupid helpful comment here_" you're not in our boat, you can't help us fix anything cause there is nothing broken.

Oh, and I too hope the final will run on the 7500. And for all you haters, it's all about the ram guys and I have 2 gigs of it, so shove it up your ***.

I agree with you mcnasty, my Area-51m is as much a gaming platform as any pc. My computer runs better than my friends computer who has a GeForce 4 ti4200 in it. This is the first game I've seen with a stupid video card check. It's like a bouncer at a club...if you ain't on the list, you ain't gettin' in. Bull**** if you ask me.

thanks, mcnasty and kar!
p4s5bliblablo's advice is really not much of an advice... more a stupid "your pc sucks anyways" comment. doesn't sound like he knows what he's talking about.
anyways, does anyone know if ubisoft is planning to change the system check in the final version so it will run on mobility 7500s?

guys, it's an old machine (sorry but in gaming terms, 2 years is old) trying to play a very cutting edge engine. It aint gonna happen. Get over it. (Here's a tip: if you wanna keep up with the latest games, switch to a desktop so you can upgrade your video card from time to time.)
