Hi experts,

CH9000: In Game Room I am editiong a game with many variations, after finished I move to Database and use Copy From Game Room to copy the game to Database, but only the main game is copied and variations are missing! Is there a trick to get all the variations to the database? Thanks in advance.

Exactly I'm not sure to understand what you say for editing a game.
In game room I setup a game with "Game->Setup position", but if you try to copy immediatly in the database, "edit->copy game from->game room" is disabled (grayed).
You must first play one move or more to be able to copy the game in the database.
After, you must save the game "file->save game to current database" and you will be able to see your move list.

Can't have variations recorded in CM Database? That is a very bad news!

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gifPGN files with all their variations and annotations can be imported into CM Databases and there all their variations and annotations are preserved. However, in those same games are copied from Game Room into Database Room and saved into database, all their variations are lost and only the main line is preserved in the database.

The Database is all messed up. When I was importing some games .pgn it imported them fine but now I can't organize it when I try to sort from highest ELO to lowest ELO it just says clean database or configure index files then when I did that it said configuring index files error. What the hell that's suppose to mean. Listen Mesbah, jump on the Fritz, Shredder, or Junior ban wagon with me, because unlike Chessmaster you can see the variations and everything. Plus its 3D boards are freaking awesome. "Next to the chess board there is an analog clock, of the well-known Garde brand. This clock actually works, the hands move, the flag rises and falls." from Chessbase.com http://www.chessbase.com/shop/images/fritz/dfritz8-05.jpg http://www.chessbase.com/shop/images/fritz/dfritz8-01b.jpg
