multiplayer problem, no ip box in setup, no servers

Bought IL2 about a year ago and did not play it but a few time. Pulled IL2 Strum FB out of the box to try playing it again. Can't get multiplayer to work.

I uninstalled and then re-installed. Upgraded to 1.22 (10 to 1.22 upgrade)

The problem seems to revolve around the fact that I do not have an IP address box in the IL2, setup, "network" screen.

I have the port box which says '21000' and I have the connection set to 'cable, DSL'.

Anyone have any idea what would cause there not to be an IP box option here? I am on the Internet with other programs and I have a dedicated public IP address.

Go HERE (http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz/) to download Hyperlobby. Then you will be able to play and host online if you get AEP. I doubt there are any FB 1.22 servers around anymore.

Thanks, I was able to install hyperlobby and see servers. I click on the server and it starts the IL2 FB program.

You are right, everyone seems to be on 2.04. I still do not have the IP box in the network settings, but I gather that is normal for my version and not an issue.

What is the most efficient way to get 2.04? Is this a new purchase? Thanks for your very prompt reply.

Go to www.3dgamers.com (http://www.3dgamers.com) for the 2.01 patch and the 2.04 patch, they are free. Do NOT get the server patch!

The Aces Expansion Pack which takes you to FB V2.0 is a separate CD which you'll have to buy before upgrading to V2.04.
