Chinese People have amazing talents, not to mention brains. I know i am married to one.
My wifes cousin that came here from Beijin can fix almost anything just by looking at it he can figure out how it works. If he had a chance to go to College *in my best Marlo Brandon voice* "he could have been a condender"

Hornet, I'm saying anything you just said isn't true but a lot of the ice sculptures were made by non-chinese people.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif sorry should have read first where this place was I just didnt know there was such a place else where. I thought this was the same place I heard about in some Northern part of China where there is a whole city made out of Ice, and supposed to be so cold that when you pee it freezes instantly. Anyway those sculptures are amazing regardless of who made them.

It is in China. Just many (not all) of the sculptures we saw were made by international teams travelling to China to participate in the event. If you're going to travel to China to do this stuff you're probably gotta be really good to make it worth your while. Many of the Chinese snow and Ice art was done by the locals and wasn't as impressive. However, they are the ones that pull this whole thing together. I've got to give them lots of credit for that.

I wasn't stereotypeing the chinese, even if it sounded like it but that is what I realise after spending my teen and adult years among the chinese. Most have top grades, family oriented hard working people. If that is stereotyping oh well, but it is the truth.

Now about you being smart Zerosniper0. You probably are but dont know it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Really? wow then this must be the place I was told about and assumed it was made only by the chinese. Well its a creative way to deal with the cold weather and all that ice and snow. I was very impressed with the Great Wall and all that carving artistry in the emperors palaces I saw when I was in Beijin a few years ago, so I thought that looked like their work and very impressive work who ever done it, it is.

They are very impressive! I love ice sculptures- especially when it is dark and coloured lights are able to shine through the ice- something very graceful about that.

When I was in Lake Louise, Canada, I was there at the time of the anual "Ice Magic" competition. Basically- whoever crafts the most awe inspiring and magnificent ice sculpture wins. I must say that I was well impressed at the level of detail and crasftsmanship of all of the sculptures, and I could NEVER judge such a competition myself.

I know this may seem weird, perhaps almost difficult to believe, but on the same holiday I stayed overnight in an "ice palace". This is basically a hotel made entirely of ICE... The cutlery, the plates, the glasses, the beds (excluding sleeping bags http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) were made entirely of ice. An increadible experience! They even had pool tables made from ice- but they were just for decoration, because the table would be pretty easy to chip, or the ice cue would break. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anybody heard of such wonderful and wierd things? I believe there are Ice hotels in Norway, Canada and Switzerland. Perhaps a few other places. Not for the poorly insulated! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Hopefully they could invite some hated polictical leaders (not to mention any names) to an ice palace, turn up the heating so they drown in their sleep, and blame it on on global warming! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Yea, they should make a big castle for brittney spears as well and when she falls asleep at night they can heat up her castle and have it melt on her.

Then when its all melted they can let it freeze again and she can be a 'human sculpture' im sure that would win.
