I think they need to get Far Cry patch 1.2 out before they start on Far Cry 2. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If you mean Far Cry multiplayer... no. I haven't tried as I've been too busy playing sp.My friends and I are going to try to set up a multi lan for it this summer, though.

there has known to be some problems with it like you need diffrent serial numbers for the game and somtimes you atomaticly get kicked as soon as you join for no reason at all. i had both these problems i had to wipe the computer like 5 times.

Deus Ex was released closer to 2000, i believe, but thats not the point.

You are trying to compare A game thats sole winning point is the super hard AI and beautiful graphics to other behemoths of gaming way before its time.

Half Life revolutionized the way first person shooters were made, giving top notch graphics (of its time), compelling AI,seemless levels that were completely connected to one another, a mysterious story filled with interesting NPC's, and the most immersive gaming... well to date actually (115,000 people still play it's incarnations on Steam)

Deus Ex on the other hand was an amazing FPS that took the game to another level, when it introduced RPG elements. The action was entertaining, and the choices you made reflected your character and the game world. One of the best plots in any game i have ever played and most interesting gameplay. I replayed the game on the PS2 just to beat it with better graphics.

Now you have 3 games (im not counting Opposing Force or Blue Shift as they are part of HL, esp now that you get them all together on Steam), now you have the game that started it all, and a game that offered a great story.

Then there is Far Cry which had one of the weakest stories i've ever seen in a FPS (even outweighing Red Faction 2, which was pretty lame). There are some new elements of outdoor gameplay with the large enviroments. It has its compelling moments which is agreeable, but the only place it really strangles the other games are its graphics.

I personally think that these games shouldnt even be compared, but eh its bound to happen. Well HL2 and HL: Source should show what a great experience Valve, put together rather than the inexperienced Crytek. I give Crytek credit for thier engine, but the stunning moments really got too sparse towards the end of the game and the conlusion was dull. And as far as Deus Ex, it was completely ruined in its lackluster sequel... pretty much anything that made it stand out was removed to have a easier 'jump in and play' factor for the Xbox crowd. I gave my copy of that away.

Ok, so the story in Farcry isn't the best, but hey lets face it, who actually watches the cutscenes other than the first time they play the game? Not many I wager, and so it's the graphics and the game play that makes you go through it again. That's my opinion anyway.
