I dont know if you guys experience this much in Adversarial.The Coop players have found it cool to spam the Zulu code constantly over and over. I am requesting that Ubi impliment a Zulu Code Spam Filter in the next patch. So anyone spamming Zulu will have it disabled for a set period of time.

This is because you cant figure out that you have to suicide. It sucks when you have to sit and wait for a moron who thinks he can kill 20+ tangos all by himself - He will die like 5 minutes later, so just suicide and let the other guys play too (and girls).

I'm all for the filter, however it might not be effective to implement it similar to the name change. I'd be perfectly happy with seeing who's sending the zulu-code.

It's fine to do it once or twice when there's the last person. But I've had idiots spamming the game with zulus when half the team's still playing.

Now that is just annoying.

The last time I had that we kicked him out because everyone else were familiar players who's never done it before. (Besides the fact that he has been a pain in the neck for all of us for far too long.)

But then again, I'd not expect anything to be done on this one, seeing there are indeed much more severe issues at hand.

Right now, we can only rely on the admin/host to make out who's the zulu-kiddie that needs to be kicked/banned.

Or maybe I simply did not play co-op for too long :-)

Nevermind. You can disable it on the server. If you edit the Ravenshield.ini on the server and set UseSound=False then sounds will no longer be passed to the other players.

Is that all sounds? Including the pre-recorded voice messages?

That will be unacceptable for co-op, I think, since communications is such an important aspect for co-op. Of course it'd be fine if everyone's on, say, TeamSpeak.

But then again, we've all had those times when the leading man reloads at a corner and says "Move out" while he really wanted to say "Tango spotted" ---- and the two teammates that go moving out gets killed. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Thats not the issue. The issue is "zulu..g..zul..zul...zulu-zulu-gogozuluzuzuzulugogogo!" all in a period of less than 3 seconds. Once is enough. And do show who is zuluing, so that a kickvote may be initiated if suicide is not a server rule.

I must be lucky also. With the group [SOF] I play coop with the Zulu code is a sign of encouragement...that we don't want anybody to suicide and see if they can finish the mission on there own. The whole object of the game is to complete the mission. Sure we try to complete the mission as a group but unless someone gets killed at the very beginning we go on. By playing this way we become better players because if you "Go Rambo" or get sloppy you become a spectator until the last man is down. We're a team whos goal is not to have the most kills each but to complete the map and come out alive.

That is what the Zulu Code should be used for...encouragement. Not because when some loser gets himself offed midway through a mission by being a boob does everybody have to restart because of him.

My advice to everyone is when you hear "Zulu Go,Go,Go" is that the terrorist have a young child hostage and everybody is rooting for you to be a hero for the team and save the day. Let them wait...they will become better players in the long run and everybody will enjoy the game more. If they complain let them walk and go elsewere. Hopefully they will get the same treatment on the next server. Not hard to "fix" this problem...the losers will leave fast enough. It's up to you to change what the Zulu code means...

The problem isn't the zulu code.

The problem is that DEAD players can
press the zulu code button and live
players can hear it and thus be spammed.

Why are DEAD people allowed to speak???
This bug should have been fixed 3 patches ago.

Although i always suicide when i hear the zulu go code cos it's only fare to the other players, I also agree with the implementation of a limit on it. Some of you press like there's no tommorow. ZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZ yo know the score. And when it's me waitin i don't zulu anybody i wait or go make a brew or usualy cos i'm drinkin loads of fluid(beer or vimto) i get the chance to go to the looo. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

So i would say put a limit on like the chat disable thing cos it gets well anoying.

But yes there are more pressin things than a zulu disable thingy.

He's merely trying to point out that it is a problem. Each one of those lines represents how many times some player spammed the go code.

That is almost unbelievable! After seeing that I will change my opinion from my previous post. Dead men don't talk. The next patch should address the removing, implement a server side switch or naming the Zulu spammer to have some control over the Zulu code and it needs to be done quickly.

Sometimes showing an example of the problem is better than saying how bad it is. Hopefully Bullettooth will look at this thread and see it as well and pass it up to the devs.

You cant tell on screen. But FlimFlam just showed you how with that log. The player logs into the server and is assigned a R6PlayerController number. In this case the player was assigned R6PlayerController617. So he joined the server and started zulu spamming(ServerSendGoCode) immediately. So you ban the player via PB after finding the R6PlayerController number responsible. Scroll up to find who it was assigned too and ban his Guid.

Dead Players Shouldnt Be Allowed To Zulu Code Spam Live Players. That Log Is Small Compared To Some Of The Others I Have Seen!!

i think it should be stopped all together, why should the good players be banned because the rest of the team was killed early in the game?

Beacuse the guy or gal doing it was probably asked by others on the server to cut it out and didn't listen. So they continued to be a jerk about it - usually for multiple rounds and after multiple warnings. A ban is justified IMO. If the offender is willing to cause that kind of irritation to a server full of people, we don't want that kind of player on our servers - regardless of how "good" a player they are.

I think the zulu go-code is only acceptable if the person is a complete mook running in circles with 10 minutes left, on a 0-limit-round server. People want the map to be done and over with, let the last remaining guy try to take them out, but if he's searching cleared areas, he needs to just go ahead and suicide to let the people who know what they are doing get it done. If there's one guy left and he's doing a darn good job, let him be, he just may get you out of the loop. I get that all the time, I'm always the last one left with 15 tangos left, everyone spamming their codes in my ears. Let it alone.

Euro that's a tough situation. Alot of server have a policy of 10+ tangos= suicide. However if everyone in the server is cool about it then run it. However, if everyone isn't they will let you know by either asking or starting a voteckick. If someone zulu's once, twice, or even three times, you know. There is no need for spamming, the person spamming is just trying to annoy you (or sometimes half your team) into suiciding. Currently, you have no way of knowing who that rude person is and therefore no way of knowing for sure. Sure the server admin can look at the logs but that is way after the fact and does nothing for those being annoyed at the time. That is why at least show who is giving a go code. Or dead men don't talk. I like having the zulu code so it can be issued once or twice if necessary but would be happy to live without it if it got rid of the spammers.

someone was spamming the zulu go key on me once and i just layed down for the rest of the match...he was the first to die and did it while 5 others were still alive up until i was the last left, he was the only who cared and immediately left, so it was all good

yeah I just usually find a nice little corner and do the nightvision thing over and over, makes everyone laugh. I also like to do it in a bathroom, using a fluid motion crouch, always gets people cracked up.

I think the zulu code thing is great, and it should not be removed... maybe just make it so you cant keep doing it over and over, like you can only do it once evry 30 seconds

There is no need for a zulu filter. Roughly 80% of co-op games are "zulu servers" where (even if they tell you not to give a zulu code) you are expected to suicide if you are the last with 10+ tangos left. Good players only need to be told once, before they pull out a frag and put on a funny demonstration. Sometimes you get a non-team player who loves the spotlight of being the last player (for a change) and refuses to zulu. It is then only fair that other spectators and dead comrads remind them that they are not having ANY fun watching them show off while they have to sit around. And yes, sometimes, INSISTANTLY remind them of their zulu obligations. Now, if someone gets carried away with the zulu (or calls it when it's inappropriate), people are smart enough to ban/boot/warn players that get a little zealous with their zulu. If you are one of those skilled players that gets zulu spammed a lot (like myself), then realize that you are a strong link in your team, and set an example of how to "take one for the team". Because everyone having fun is much more important than you showing how good you think everyone should recognize you are. I have another constructive suggestion. Mission clocks get accellerated to one minute left when down to one team member, and a notification appear on that last teammate's screen. I think that a forced "Rambo"/blitz timeframe would be a worthwhile, popular, and most importantly, entertaining server setting. Just my humble opinion. If UBI disables Zulu, I'll start using "alpha", or changing my screen name to "Kill_yourself_nOOb!"

Completely diagree. The zulu spam is just as annoying to a server full of people as the last guy taking on 35 tangos out of 40 in a full server. Like you mention earlier that is what the votekick is for - not the zulu spamming.

Would be nice if you COULD ACTUALLY TELL who's spamming, but since you can't unless they admit it then your SOL.

That's only going to penalize the guy who has 4 or 5 tangos left and has to find them. And do nothing for improving gameplay. Not a good idea IMO.

FYI, none of the other "go-codes" work in multi-player so why should zulu? As for changing your name, go ahead has worked for a long time and will continue to do so. Most of us aren't asking for disabling the zulu but a filter or at least show who is doing it so a votekick can be issued by those on the server.

but the players who dont do something and get themselves eliminated early on shouldnt be punished because the other players cant keep themselves alive long eough to do anything

My thoughts exactly. If the server has no round limit, and the n00bs who are in the server are fighting on the 250th round(I've seen it up over 300), I'm going to do what I can to end the map and get some variety into the game. I explain this as soon as I enter the server, because alot of online COOP players know me, it's all I really play anymore.

I don't think its a problem. sometimes it is but it would be nice to have it so u can only say it like 5 times a minute or something, like with the name changing... Changing it so u can only change your name once every minute or whatever was a good idea so i think they should do the same here if people really think its a big problem...

That is exactly what we're asking for. A filter like chat abuse. Essentially the same thing. Look earlier in this thread where I posted the log of a typical zulu spammer. You see how many times they actually do it and you realize that it is a problem. Those of us who host servers (2 co-op and 2 adv) see this problem alot. This simple change would help alot and make the playing more enjoyable for alot of people.

Yeah that would work but then you lose the voice command and go codes from live teammates. Which if you are coordinating a breach would make extremely difficult.

If UBI would implement one of the above suggestions everyone wins.
