Why can't they hear me when I taunt?

When somebody kills me they bend down and say something funny, most of the time. I tried it with my friend the other day and he couldn,t hear me. I also snuck up behind him and grabbed him, and he still couldn't hear me? Why can't I taunt?

In order to taunt you need to hold down the hack communications button (I believe the default button is the H button). So hold it down while you have the merc by the neck, and talk into your mic. When the spy/merc is unconscious, crouch over his body, hold the hack comm button and speak into the mic.

Make sure you hold the button while you talk into the mic.... this is also what you hold when you have tagged a merc or spy and want to hear their communications as they talk to their teammate.

i think it would be good if you could actually talk to the other team just by pressing H. that way u coould taunt them by saying things like "haha. you haveno clue where i am do you?"
