If you have questions about Beyond Good and Evil then this is the thread to ask them in.
Over the next few weeks we will be selecting the best questions and asking Michel Ancel to answer them personally!
Michel Ancel and his team are the developers of Beyond Good and Evil so this is a unique chance for you to get answers from the creator of the game.
The answers to all of the questions will be posted on the website and forums and the "interviewer" will be referenced!

First of all, thanks Cartrix, for setting this up. Second, thanks to Michael Ancel, for answering questions for us.
Biggest question I have, is release date. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif when, and how much will it cost?
Can you tell me how the "society" of this game works?? In other words, will I just be running around by myself, or will I have helpers and commrades?

How did you begin development on BG&E ?
Do you do the character designs on paper first?
How many people do you need for a project of this size?
Whoever the artists are, they've captured my fantasies.
Will there be a site devoted to your artists and their
work. Like comics fans I'd love to see developmental
sketch books of your characters and props. Please
make one OK! This looks to be one of the most enjoyable
worlds to play in I have seen for the gamecube.

How is BG&E different than Rayman?
When you went about making it, was the idea to go beyond limitations you saw in Rayman or to go a completely different route from Rayman.
What kind of experience are you aiming to give us gamers.
What was going through your head when you came up with the concept for BG&E, are you the only one who worked on the core concept?
What's the coolest thing about BG&E, in your opinion.
What was the reason for choosing to have a female hero.
What was the reasoning behind having Jade be dressed in green?
I recently came back to the BG&E website and it seems that Jade has had a re-design, more ninja/commando style as apposed to girl next door. Her facial features also seem older, or maybe its just that she looks madder.
What was the reasoning behind this? or is it that she just changes clothes throughout the game?

-What will the gameplay be like? Will it be action heavy platformer, focus more on character interaction and puzzles solving, or a mixture of the two?
-Why was the decision made to only release BG&E on PS2 in PAL contries, yet it is still coming out on all platforms in NTSC contries?
-BG&E seems to have been in development for some time now. When did you first start working on it? Is there any reason for the drawn out development time?
-I have noticed that there are three different versions of Jade. The first one can be seen in the first E3 trailer a few years back. The second is found in this years E3 media. Finally, there seems to be a completely new look to Jade reveiled in the expanding of the BG&E site. Are all of these different versions going to be present in the final game? If not what was your reasoning in changing her look? IMO, the second Jade (the one from this years E3) is the best looking.
-Approximately how long is BG&E going to be? Will there be any reply insentive?
-Will there be any differences between the different versions of the game (varying from platform to platform)? If so what will they be?
-I noticed in the old E3 trailer and in one of the recent screenshots that Jade is traviling through space. Will there be different planets to visit? If so how many will there be, and to what extent will you be able to explore on them?
-What are you planing of working on when BG&E is finished? Another Rayman or something original?
-What game currently out could BG&E be best compared to? Or is there nothing like it?
-Beyond Good & Evil seems (to me at least) to be an odd name for a game that is about a woman trying to free her people from an anlien invasion. Is there a story behind the name, or just some great plot twists instore?
-Will the game be linear of non-linear? Will there be side "quests" that you can do whenever you want and don't have to be completed in order to finish the game, similar to an RPG?

Thought of some more questions.
-Is BG&E on schedule for its November release? What stage of production are you currently in?
-Besides the pig what other characters will tag along with you during the game?
-What was your inspiration behind BG&E?
-The screenshots that came out around E3 showed what looked to be a completed interface, but the most recent screenshots are lacking that interface. Why is this? Is it in the process of being re-worked?

Given the number of complaints, what are the odds that Jade and Pey'j will be restored to their original character designs?
What's the estimated completion time for the game? Will there be side-quests or extras to extend playabilitiy?

What effect will Jade's job as a reporter have on the gameplay? One of the screenshots shows Jade carrying a camera. Does it have a role in the gameplay?
Will she be able to take on different jobs/missions (as side-quests) to earn some extra cash or items? (giving the game a less linear feel)
I've heard only the ps2 version will be released in 2003. When are the other (xbox/gc/pc) versions planned?
Besides Rayman, what other titles from the past has the team behind BG&E worked on?

We all know Beyond good and evil is a tremendous game, and it took you a little of 3 years to develop it. Are there things that have changed during the development? Things you rather wanted, but not where included?

My brother pointed out that the phrase "Beyond Good and Evil" was coined by Nietzsche. Is there anything in Beyond Good and Evil (the game) that refers back to or is inispired by his philosophies or ideas? Or did you just think it would make a catchy title?

Why did the team of Beyond Good & Evil changed Jade?
The other Jade was much better. And I readed that you don't want a very sexy Jade and that Ubisoft want a sexy one. And now it is a sexy jade. How could this happen?

The main character for this game is a female. Was this a weighted decision, or was there no debate concerning the gender? Do you have any intention of her being an archtypical female lead of sorts?

This game is looking great so far! One question: Why did you change the visual style of the main character? Perhaps you wanted a more adult hero, but the old one was great.
