Recently my ISP quaranteed me, accusing me of having the Blaster or similar virus. My ISP is a university ISP, which is why they quaranteen people in the first place. Now, my computer came up clean; no viruses found.
When calling the tech support people to get myself unquaranteed, they didn't believe that I had no viruses. Once they found out that I played RainbowSix3: RvS, they told me that there have been known issues of RvS sending out signals that look similar to the Blaster virus' signals. Has anyone heard anything about this before? I find it kind of weird that this could be true, but I don't doubt it.

Whoa, this is weird. I live on campus at a university as well and the week that I installed raven shield (I had just formatted my HD), they quarantined me too! They said that I had the Nachi Worm (similar to the blaster worm). I run Norton system Works and Zone Alarm Pro and stay up-to-date on definitions etc. I did a full system scan and NOTHING came up as a worm or virus. When my results came back negative, I thought: I'm sure the university has much better virus protection equipment than I do, I must be wrong!...I then went to the Symantec site to see if they had the Nachi definition. When they did, well, that meant I did since I stay up to date. I didn't know what was going on. To make a short story long, I got unquarantined and havn't had a problem since.

P.S. My machine never showed any signs of any virus.

Ya it does happen my ISP had put blocks on my system (iI run NAV and keep it current) giving me a 1000 ping and has done the same to 4 other RVS players who use the same provider they watched my system when they found i run R6 3 and found that the data transfer rates are very similar to some of the #@&*%$ worm viruses (virusii lol) out there

So after me harassing them for a month+ they put an exception on my ip and voila problem gone

HAHA, I wish I could do that... but my universities ISP is very firm on how they go about doing things
