Whats the learning curve and how long does it take to actually get used to all the elements of the controls, maps, etc. I understand it IS a ACTION/TACTICAL GAME, but is it difficult to a point of frustration?
Yes, I do have PS2 and yes I am a SOCOM fan...but I also have an X-Box as well and all I ever had was Splinter Cell and hopefully this one based on what I've read so far in these forums. I'm on eof those gamers that will sacrifice style over substance and I think this game appears to be both. No offense to X Box, I dont see alot of games out there for X Box to really drool over except for the Tom Clancy series of games.
Just curious.

It The learning curve seems to be just about right to me. I just got it the other day, and i have improved immensely since then. The only problems I have had were when people exclusively use the Grenade Launcher or .50 cal. If you like FPS games, pick this one up you won't be disappointed.

thanks... i'm going to my Gamestop right after work. I think I'll do an even trade with Medal of Honor. I think thats the best way to go right now- because RBS3 looks like a better FPS to me.

Yeah the learning curve is about right, a few misions in I was down with the commands and had a few nice guns that I liked. The Training is v.good lets you try out all different types of weapon, similar Clancy style as SplinterCell Training although its set in Military grounds at Hereford, England. It does throw a few different elements into the SP aspect which is good(IMO/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif )! Learning curve moderate. Immersion is something this game is all about, get the headset on, crank up the volume and dim the lights... you will get better and it had better be quick or you'll be dead!!

I agree. The learning curve is moderate because you have alot of different commands at your disposal so it might take you a while at first to decide which command to issue where and what works best in a particular situation. Other than that it's a great game, but make sure you do the training first it'll help.
