View Full Version : Game crashes when I click Multiplayer, or load single player game

If anyone has any idea what is causing this I could really use some help. A reinstall of the game will make the error stop for a little while, and then I have to format and reinstall the OS before reinstalls will fix it again.
This all started about a week after I installed the FX 59000 Ultra, and I have tried installing all different drivers.
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 2082 MHz with 511MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra (4403)
General protection fault!

wait till 1.4 comes out 1.31 is messed

Yeah, this is still happening with 1.4. I have removed my sound card, and had the same problem. Changed my video card with the same problem. Currently I have removed my sound card, have the normal video card on a fresh install of the OS and it is still happening.

Got the same error running the server browser as well.

I was able to fix the problem on my machine, but it came back the next day. I did a few things at the same time so I am not exactly sure how I resolved this, but I will work on narrowing it down and post what I find.
