This picture has been making the rounds and is apparently not photoshopped. I do not know the soldier and cannot verify this picture's authenticity.

As you can see, he is crossing his fingers as he shakes her hand. People have been posting all sorts of silliness about this, but you can decide for yourselves if he is "smirking" or "smiling" or anything else. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, he's not the only one, I'm pretty sure that he's very aware of the fact that Hillary Clinton's smile and handshake is also fake and probably wants to get the photo op over as soon as possible so she won't have to lay her precious eyes on any more people in uniform.

this is the first time i've seen this picture, and there's no doubt in my mind that hilary's "smile" and "handshake" are really forced. our military is overseas protecting her right to be such a *****. i have family in the army and i'd be by their side in combat if they needed me. i cannot stand people like her...the war on terror is justified - all we've gotta do is look back at 9-11-01. by the way, what do you think about the patriot act? i think it's a good thing, especially because i've got no terrorist ties to hide.

the pat act started out as a knee jerk reaction and needs to be refined a bit...we have had cases of overzelous procicuters charging minor crimes with terrorism laws. that needs to stop. Also the terrorist still have a cpl of loopholes that need to be closed etc....its not perfect but over all its a good thing.

as far as clinton mr or mrs i have no respect for them in any capasicity. they are the downfall of the dem party if anyone hasnt noticed. Dean etc are the non DC dems trying to get back into the national party...and look what happened the clinton DC group pulled the strings and poof kerry is winning. they are worse for the dems than any repub...hehe stupid dems following the clinton train right down the drain ....wooooowoooooooooo chuga chuga woooooowoooooo

I'm sure that her smile and handshake are very real. After all, a photo op is a photo op and it never hurts to have a few pics with soldiers - they tend to sell pretty well back at home.

Well "real" as in she's really doing it, but there's really no meaning behind it other than to get a photo op. Meaning she's not really smiling because she's happy to be shaking hands with a soldier, she literally hates people in the military, I'm not joking.

Snopes is such a useful tool as well. Easy to use and very comprehensive. With so much silliness out there it is a good palce to check first for all kinds of things.

Give me a break.

Some people are way to desperate to see anything in anything.

Many people cross fingers or fidget when they are nervous or when they are doing somthing like this. And many do it without realising it. My GIRLFRIEND does it constantly in photos, and it bugs her that she does.

Besides, its not even half funny. Next you will comment on the lack of red chairs in the background. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And yes, her smile is fake. She looks REALLY uncomfortable.

I'm sure she is uncomfortable. It's rather warm in Iraq and she is not dressed for the weather. However, she's probably quite glad for the photo op.

Are you sure that he isn't thinking about his own haircut as well? After all, he is looking kind of stubbly up top. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I can't believe I just wasted half my night looking for anything related to the Chupacabra on Snopes.

Oh, okay. I thought you might have had a problem with goats from your flock turning up drained of blood. But I'm glad to hear that you are not having any such problems. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I think they use the term 'herd' for goats rather than 'flock'. Your a little 'off' today, is something the matter?

You're right, they do. Sheep are a flock, goats are a herd. Just tired, thanks. I need to write a short sermon for this afternoon and a nice pile of other work. Wednesdays are just tough sometimes. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Geist, read the book written by Colonel Robert Patterson called Dereliction of Duty. No it's not some lame book about how he flew to Europe during Vietnam, nor is it some book full of speculation and someone's personal opinion about Clinton. I'm sure you must have read or at least heard of this book, Patterson was Clinton's personal Aide for 2 years carrying the "nuclear briefcase" and this is merely a first hand, almost journal like, account of his experiences with the Clintons. There were many times when it is blatently obvious that they both hated the military, but one good example I can point out is how Hillary actually banned military uniforms in the White House for a while. After a few days of the press seeing only men in suits, the press started speculating that there is a ban on military uniforms, but it was denied and Hillary promptly lifted the ban to prevent any more contraversy. But Patterson will tell you first-hand that the alleged ban was indeed true. The reason was because Hillary did not want to see anything to do with the military while she's at the White House. This is not at all the only account of their feelings toward them.
