Need some help on Rebellion

Kind of lost at the moment. I'm on about the 4th autosave, I've been told to follow the road to the archives I believe. Anyway, I've been driving pretty much the opposite direction of the objective following the road, and I've come to a broken bridge which I can't seem to get across. I've backtracked a bit, but no luck so far.

Easy, just drive your vehicle over the edge of the bridge at full speed and land on the other side. If that doesn't work, then you must of found some other way around that bridge without realizing it and you are trying to go over it backwards- in which case you are traveling the wrong way (of course).
