View Full Version : How is the aiming speed/laser dot performance in the full game versus the demo?

The only two things that ticked me off about the demo were the slooooow recticle movement for aiming and the wandering, imprecise laser dot as tough Sam Fisher were drunk in charge of a pistol.

Can anyone with the full game comment on the comparison?

Well, fixing the slow aiming is no problem. Just go to the Esettings.ini and change all the useAimTuning= from 1 to 0.

*flame start*
The most annoying thing about the laser dot was that it didnt seem to come out of his gun, and that it was unrealistic.
It looked more like a dot on the screen that a dot in the actual game envoriment.
I mean, if you aim from a 10 degree angle on a wall, the dot should be stretched (since the laser hits covers a larger surface.

And the most stupid thing: When he reloads his gun (raises it and stuff), THE DOT IS STILL RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN. Whats up with that?! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gifIt`s supposed to come out of his gun, right? Or else it wouldnt work well, would it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

Seriously UBI, Half-Life 1 had a better laser dot. (on the magnum gun.)

Bobodov: "You're not here to help me?"
Sam Fisher: "I'm not here at all!"

Yeah I made those config changes in the demo but I'm just wondering if it will be necessary in the full game. Maybe they improved it. Did they?

The laser dot is a laser path in MP and seems to be a lot better. I suspect it will be a major gripe in SP.

Not sure what you mean. What is the exact command line for that, please?

Well.. its not a matter of improving.. I think they will have an option to disable it in the config.. else I'll just change it in the .ini ..

I don't know for sure if it's mouse acceleration.. but if you read the whole thread next time you might see the whole line.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyway, mouse acceleration = when you pull your gun out you aim at your mousesensetivity speed.. but when you turn, try turning 10cm slow, and 10cm fast.. watch what happens.. havn't tried this commandline yet.. but I hope this will turn mouseacceleration off http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hmm.. already at 0.. probably not it then.. ah whatever.. hope I'll get used to it ^^

When I saw this in the demo I got the impression that it was to compensate for the improved gun accuracy, to prevent gunfighting from becoming too easy/effective.
